Never thought he'd get past them. Atlanta is the wild card to me. I hope they take anyone else other than Reed or Sarr.

Athletically he ranks in the 4th percentile among wings. His closest comparison athletically is Adam Morrison.

He put up an amazing 31 inch max vertical.

Dude couldn't even block shots against Euro scrubs. Sheppard likely averages more blocked shots per game in the NBA than this clown.

•Clingan/Castle: Scouts love both guys. Castle looks like 4th to San Antonio or 6th to Charlotte. Pretty arrow range there. Teams love defensive versatility, playmaking ability, unselfishness, competitiveness. All the ingredients of high level role player. Clingan has a chance to go 1 to Hawks. Outstanding workout in front of Quin Snyder, who loves his defensive versatility, passing, budding shooting, a lot to like there. If he doesn’t go 1, 2 is pretty much a lock to be Alex Sarr to Washington. Does Houston trade that pick? Memphis with Smart, New Orleans with Ingram, there are a lot of teams that want to move up. Clingan, 7 to Portland is his floor ultimately.

•Risacher/Sarr: Risacher 6’10 3&D guy, drawing comps to Brandon Miller & Trey Murphy. Outstanding shooter (39% from three). Versatile defender. He can do a little of everything. Outstanding feel for the game. Sky is the limit. Sarr: 7’1, 7’5 wingspan, one of the best athletes in this draft. Incredible rim-runner, P&R finisher. Defense is what makes him special. Covers ground exceptionally well. Hedge on perimeter. Can switch, drop defender. Does a little bit of everything for his team.

No doubt but I doubt the combo guard tag gets draft teams all excited and thinking it's sexy, just sayin'.

Been going on why he is not a sure fire Top 2 pick in a weaker draft, because he is not a guy everyone is that high on.

Even better, Spurs pursue Risacher and give Rockets assets to draft Reed Sheppard 4th. Or Rockets could hold Risarcher if Spurs don't want to give up 8?

Sarr just makes too much sense for Washington on every level. Most upside in the draft for a team with nothing in that area? Check. Helps their lackluster defense? Check. Fleshes out their sh*tty frontcourt now that they traded Gafford? Check and check. Unfortunately I just don't see him getting past them unless something really weird is going on.

To be fair Clingan does check two out of three of those boxes, but he's the kind of safe pick that a team in year 1 of a total rebuild should never make, so I'd be shocked if they pick him.

yeah I have a feeling the spurs want Sheppard or Risacher. They could both be gone by #4. If they are both there at #3, the Spurs could stand pat and let either fall into their lap.

If Risacher goes #1, Sarr #2, Reed #3, the spurs are looking at Clingan and Castle. Not the best fits for what they need. I could see the Spurs moving into the top 2 to get their guy.

Another check is I think Sarr is also a player they can sell as a foundational piece and give their fanbase something to look forward to. I think he's someone they can really hype up.

For a long time he was the consensus top pick, has all the tools for a modern day big, tall long...

And then all the other factors you named...

I think Atlanta's pick will definitely cause some ripple effects depending on which direction they go.

If the Hawks can’t decide between Risacher and Clingan, they should trade with us and let the Wizards make the decision.

I am really hoping Atlanta takes Clingan #1 and Sarr goes #2. That presents the best case scenario for us to take Sheppard. If Clingan goes #1 then we are less likely to get offers for the #3 spot which will keep Stone from making a huge mistake and letting Reed fall to the Spurs.

It looks like Sarr is a lock at 2, and Clingan may go 1. If so, I’d be really tempted to take Risacher. He’d be a great Brooks replacement at 3.

    Why would Risacher ever play?

The Rockets have both Tari and Amen that would deserve minutes over him at the 3.... and they are stuck with Brooks for 3 more seasons.

What does he bring to the table in your mind?

How many Brooks replacements do we need? We have Tari, Amen, and Cam already. SF and C are the two positions we have absolutely no room for. If Sarr is available fine, because if he works out Jabari could move to 3 in the future. None of these rookies are going to have an impact this year on the Rockets.
