“Also happened to one of my picks…. Not Luhnow’s, not Click’s, not Crane’s, not Bagwell’s, not Reggie Jackson’s, not Crane’s kid who knows nothing about baseball…. Mine! And I get some much god-damn deserved respect when my guy gets **** done!”

Control is what truly separates the best of the best…. From the never will be’s.

A lot of these guys can pump it up to 98 with wicked spin… won’t matter if they can’t locate.

People who play darts reguarly should weigh in…. Much harder to get that triple 18 consistently vs. just throwing it as hard as you can on the board.

And if you do both…. You go to the HOF.

More like the anti-Rangers…. They traded Cole Ragans for a rental relief pitcher.

If this was against the Astros, he would have 8 shutout innings

I knew we would finally give up on Paredes and he would become a shut down reliever somewhere else and here we are.

If they're truly talented skipping AAA isn't a big deal. Bloss has the best stuff of any P in the minors from what I've read. throws 98 with 2 good other pitches.

    Love this post.

Dana really believes in Bloss or Blubaugh would've gotten the call.

yyyyyeah, it's desperation. For sure. Not a swing and miss guy. This is going to be interesting. But it's not hard to be better than Spaghett and Ragu. Fingers crossed it works out.

Had they not won the World Series last year that trade would be hurting right now.

Hunsicker never regretted the Randy Johnson trade despite giving up 3 solid contributors...

Paredes had the stuff to be a top 5 closer in baseball - he just lost the ability to find the plate. They worked with him until he was just frustrated and wanted to be on another team.

He is one of the guys I look back on as being really close to having been a very good big leaguer and difference maker for the Astros.

Yeah - some truth to this. It’s pretty clear he is frustrated that he is getting blamed or associated with decisions and choices he had no control over.

As for Crane’s son - his daddy gave up on that sometime ago, his daddy has him on the business side. Bagwell sits there until asked a question and Reggie comes and goes… Enos Cabell is the old guy with the most influence and he has no problem telling Crane when a player sucks.

I hope Bloss blossoms, Brown is by all accounts a good guy and deserves a real shot. I am very high on his draft and player valuation ability. So far he hasn’t lost if like he did in Atlanta - I’m sure it’s coming

Remember when we were very good and struggled against rookie pitchers with no book yet?

    Hopefully that's Baltimore tomorrow.

Tough game for a MLB debut. I don't love his chances but you never know!

    He certainly has the arm.

On another note would you sign Tucker to a 10 year 300 mil contract if it meant having to trade Framber/Pressly/JV and let Bregs walk for a comp pick wuld you do it? I would in a heartbeat.

    I like a rotation of

Blanco/Brown/Garcia/LMJArrighetti/Bloss with Blubaugh/Ullola waiting in the wings. That doesn't even take into account for young guys like Gordon/Pecko/Treadwell etc... who most likely will be at AA at some point next year. I realize Gordon's in AAA.
