[Amazon] The Boys: Season 4

This last episode was excellent but dark even by this shows standards....

 

Last episode was good. They need to focus more on the plot instead of dick gags.

She's sick of living with her enhanced awareness. Like Homelander, she's got issues with normies.

 

I get that is suppose to be her deal
She is damaged
but
If she so smart. . . heal thy self

She seems about as smart as any normal person
She has not done anything that feels overly intelligent

I think homelander ends up lazering her . . . ..

Her plan made sense in that she knew Homelander was a moron

Overall this season was a low B high C
They were too ON THE NOSE with alot of thing
(Felt like they were mad that some people didn't get their point
that it went over the heads of some people
so they made is ridiculously obvious what they were trying to say)

they got mad that people liked Homelander . . so they went over the top

More subtlety in satire is definitely gonna elevate the show. I agree that they ignored that entirely this season.

The whole season was poor. It felt like there wasn't much plot progression until the finale. The Boys scheming to neutralize Homelander and Neuman mostly went nowhere until some deus ex machina by tentacle Butcher. Shapeshifter supe just ruins the world with plot holes galore like a multiverse does, some tropes I absolutely hate.

And Homelander keeps winning for some reason. He's invincible for plot reasons.

 

So… was that Neuman or the shape shifter?

 

Butcher did Neuman. Annie killed the Shapeshifter, she said so when talking to Hughie. Plus, I think dead Neuman's eyes looked frosted like when she pops heads.

 

Neuman's Blood bending couldn't do anything with Butcher??? like Really???

Shapeshift taking small arms fire but loses to Starlight after beating Kimiko???

BTW Where is Homelander's son now?

It is kind of weird that characters like Deep and Starlight are also apparently super strong and durable. Somehow Starlight is strong enough to kill the shifter, but not enough to rip that chain out of the floor.

I don’t mind the over the top, non-subtle satire. But we needed more plot progression and less octopus, and webweaver type crap.

Will be interesting to see what becomes of A-Train, Ashley, Neuman’s daughter, and Ryan.

I assume next season is going to look like Infinity War part I where the bad guys are just laying waste and look unstoppable. Homelander and Soldier Boy likely going to team up and it’s going to get dark.

 

I think she was gradually getting her powers back.

 

Probably the weakest season so far, unfortunately. Starlight losing her powers for no real reason and then getting them back for no real reason (other than because it was needed for the plot) was lame. And Starlight finding Hughie and the Pres and Co in the super secretive underground Secret Service bunker because of the Find My Phone app was stupid as hell. Come on. How would she even know such a bunker existed? Does the app show if the phone is below surface level? And even if it does, how did she even get in there?

Oh well. Who am I kidding. I'll watch the next season too.

I just started watching this past week and am only up to episode 4 so am avoiding reading through this thread. So far pretty good and I like this season more than season three.

 

It was a decent enough season. It feels like they are finally moving things forward, season 3 felt static at times. Personally, I am glad that they are finishing the series at season 5, it is reaching a natural conclusion.
