I was listening to an national security analysis today that said that Putin getting closer to Kim Jong Un might actually help us improve relations with the PRC. While Xi Jinping has been friendly with both Putin and Kim Jong Un his interests aren't the same either of theirs. A new Russian NK alliance will make Japan and SK much more nervous which could lead to Japan going nuclear and SK going under both a US and Japan nuclear umbrella. That is not in the PRC's interest. It also would draw further US military attention to the region which would complicate the PRC's aims in Taiwan. Also the PRC has very large and close trade relationships with SK and Japan. Both of which will be at risk if NK is emboldened to act out because of it's new relationship with Russia.
Also just since this needs to be repeated again and again. The US is not forcing Ukraine to fight. The Ukrainians are fighting and want more arms and ammunition to fight. Ukraine nor the US are the aggressors. Russia invaded Ukraine.
Yeah, there's no way Ukraine (and now NATO) will agree to a ceasefire without pathway for admittance into EU or NATO. Putin broke all his past deals without much consequence (to him) and his position for peace has been to strip down Ukraine's military plus regime change by denazification. They won't and can't trust him with just a ceasefire It's kind of weird for peaceniks to plead from the "future Ukrainian lives and well being" angle when Putin's ask is for Ukraine to give up their sovereignty and to submit as a slave state back to when everything was hidden from sight behind the Iron Curtain. You don't even have to trust what the western MSMs account of poutine stances. That's what he officially says and maintains, like Ukraine ceding even more land they haven't captured for a peace deal and threatening Europe, US, and South Korea with nukes by changing it's first strike policy.
Not according to trump. He claims its NATOs fault russia invaded ukraine. This is the dipshit who @AroundTheWorld claims is tough on national security
Up until now, South Korea has only sent Ukraine non-lethal aid. After Putin pissed all over numerous UN sanctions against North Korea, some voted for by Russia, the South Korean government has announced that it is seriously looking at providing Ukraine lethal aid. South Korea is a major arms manufacturer and produces high tech products, selling billions of dollars worth to numerous allies of the United States, as well as neutral countries, with very reasonable financial terms and faster delivery than the US and her NATO allies can provide. Putin is very aware of this and the very likely result of the sucking up on his part to the leader of NK, a fellow brutal dictator. It shows how desperate Russia is, a direct result of the amazing job the Ukrainian military is doing defending their country, with help from a host of countries, large and small. Meanwhile, the usual damn fools in the United States (including here, as we see in this thread) and elsewhere choose to support Putin and his invasion of a sovereign democracy, one Russia pledged, in writing, to preserve the independence of, if Ukraine would give up the nuclear weapons left there after the fall of the USSR. The United States signed that agreement as well. President Obama's weak response to Putin's takeover of Crimea led to this invasion, in my opinion. That our country and NATO are helping Ukraine with arms and training should come as a surprise to no one. The majority of the Republican Party seems determined to see Putin succeed and Ukraine become a part of Putin's "Greater Russia." Calling that bizarre and shameful is an enormous understatement.
Jeffery Sachs was the same dude who claimed Russia would never invade ukraine nd biden was fear mongering about an invasion.
So 2 seconds of video with zero context. Seriously this is what you’re posting to make partisan arguments?
Im just going off the body language in the video, but the mother hardly looks like she is concerned or distressed. If anything, it look more like a parental dispute. That said, it very well could be forced conscription. Who knows. I dont. You dont. nobody in these forums knows. Just like Trumps "...there are good people on both sides..." 2 second clip, there was much more to that, including him denouncing the right wing extremist. This is when you all with TDS whined and cried that he never denounced white right extremism. This trend has been going on for decades and its getting worse. Now to the point where a person can't even trust a video clip. You ask me why I don't police the right. I've explained this. The right has become self confirming degenerates, moving on from the sanctimonious Christians of times past. Its now the left who are highly sanctimonious and stand on their authoritarian tower of self righteousness. I have said this repeatedly - The modern Democrats are not the same Democrats from the 1960's who said to question government and respect all people. They are now full authoritarians who tell you to not to question the government (Covid, Ukraine) and routinely persecute people who do not fit their narrative. You see it on this board when any left leaning person doesn't lock step with the authoritarian left mentality. Take a look at Glynch. Perhaps its time for you to check in on your team mates and start holding them accountable if you still think your team is so much better than everyone else.
Ooof. You conservatives are trying to implement a religious Jim Crow. No longer the party of small government. It’s just amazing how you refuse to see how authoritarian your side has become…. Your side can’t even be negative towards Trump otherwise your media and troll army will attack. Everything is about appeasing Trump and his cult.
A more capable NK nuclear program is not in the best interest of Russia. A nuclear incident is likely to end everything for all of us. Including Russia. I wouldn't want to put more power into the hands of Kim Jong Un.
You keep saying this as if it's a fact, but there is no evidence for it. At best, there are only opinions, opinions that mostly match the Russian narrative.
You repeat the opposite opinions. The poor Ukrainians pay the rice in lives and territory. Not too good for American taxpayers either, but the "defense" stocks are killing it.
