How bout, don’t make a western conference team like Memphis better? Portland and Chicago aren't threats, but absent JJJ, Bane or Morant, there’s no trade worth the price of making Memphis better. And Memphis will be much better long term with Clingan. this isn’t a hard decision. If Memphis isn’t offering one of those 3 there’s really no conversation to be had.
I am not going through the time it would take to do that. It isn't anything against you, but it is obvious, and I don't think that it is a controversial opinion. FVV is not a great point of attack defender, he lacks the speed or size to do that. Jalen Green overall isn't a good defender, and that includes at the point of attack. Marcus Smart has been a great point of attack defender for his entire career. He is almost 30, so he could slow down - but in the playoffs, a point of attack perimeter defender is important. The Celtics traded for the best one in the league to replace Smart. Having said that, there are no playoffs to rely on a defender like Smart if the Rockets don't shoot better.
Draft Sarr and trade Sengun for Wallace and their picks back. in 2 seasons the lineup would be: Wallace Amen Green Whitmore Amen 2025 Jabari Eason Sarr Nets 2025 top 10 pick (hopefully find a Lively or Clingan type center) With the Rockets own picks back they could draft a few senior age college players that are good shooters. A Sarr Jabari Eason Amen front court that Ime wants and one he deserves. @AroundTheWorld @cmoak1982 now this is a team you guys can be proud of!
I am not a fan of Smart on the Rockets - I agree with you that he is a bad offensive player, and he doesn't always realize he is bad, which makes him worse. As for being a great POA defender now, last I saw him he was still very good, but he is nearly 30 and takes a pounding, so I would not be shocked if he has slipped some. Smart would be a great bench player - but I am not giving up the #3 pick for him.
Well - there were reports earlier that the Rockets front office did not value Sengun as much as the fans do. Nothing positive comes out of that for the Rockets. The Rockets will be in a position to extend Sengun soon - sending a message to Sengun that they have offers to trade him, but view him as a long term piece can help relations with Sengun and the front office, especially if they want to wait to extend him because of the Green situation. As for why leak smart? Everyone knows that Memphis wants Clingan..... a long with 3-4 other teams. It is possible that the Rockets are letting other teams, picking BEFORE Memphis, that the Grizzlies are serious about trading up, and will deal value for Clingan - and if they want Clingan, they need to increase their offers for the #3 pick. Right now there are 3-4 teams that are playing possum, hoping they wont have to trade up and get the player they want - like San Antonio. Also - it is very possible that the Rockets are trying to shake loose Zion, and know that he will not be happy that they are looking at trading a teammate he is close to.
man I’d have liver failure by the end of the week if enemy forces captured me and put me in the torture room with EG playing basketball on the screen, I’m telling all the plans and secrets
Does the front office know this? We may know it, but do they? I'm still in a Missouri mindset when it comes to this GM and his failson sidekick.
It’s not about what I want. It’s what Ime wants. He has infinite more control than I have and you as well for that matter.
Just imagine… Marcus Smart Dillon Brooks Amen Thompson Jae’Sean Tate …all playing on offense together
