I don't want to hear anymore BS about how Woke culture is out of control....... this type of white inbred, entitled male BS is out of control. It is absolutely absurd that the Ten Commandments is in the classroom. I went to a Catholic Jesuit high school and there wasn't even anything like this, or close to this in our classrooms.

The idiots in government that supported this should absolutely be crushed for this electorally.

Louisiana doesn't have the best schools. Maybe a little faith will help. It's not costing the taxpayers anything.

A majority of the 10 commandments are actually rejected in US law.

    1. You shall have no other gods before Me: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    2. You shall not make idols: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    5. Honor your father and your mother: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    6. You shall not murder: Accepted. Can't really have a functioning society without it.
    7. You shall not commit adultery: Rejected. Freedom in the Bill of Rights.
    8. You shall not steal: Accepted. Can't really have a functioning society without it.
    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor: Accepted, at least insofar as you cannot perjure yourself in a court of law.
    10. You shall not covet: Rejected. And never was enforceable, even in Biblical times.

That's 2.5 out of 10 commandments that are actually embraced in American law -- prohibitions of murder, stealing, and perjury. Not exactly a deep kinship.

Jesus isn't going to help with that. He's not gonna help you hit a curveball either.

The endgame here is overturning Stone v Graham and more importantly Lemon v Kurtzman.

Stone v Graham was a case in 1980 that overturned a Kentucky law that put the ten commandments in classrooms so that one is pretty straightforward. Lemon v Kurtzman is the bigger one as that one established the "Lemon test" which is a framework that the court uses in cases like this. Specifically the Lemon test states that laws must be secular, that they cannot advance or inhibit religion and lastly they cannot entangle government and religion.

Striking down Lemon means a green light to introduce religion into pretty much any government institution. Unlike recent cases (like the case involving the coach that wanted to perform a prayer during games), these cases involve the government endorsing and introducing religion rather than a private individual employed by the government (during a government event).

These kids aren't learning, let's try indoctrination.

I assume the taxpayers will foot the legal bills.

(Ignoring the mandate of faith in education as being very wrong-headed for many reasons, including the Constitution)

LA has terrible schools. It's not the lack of faith. Relative to other places, LA is quite religious. It's the lack of funding for schools to attract good teachers and have good facilities. A large part of that is due to government giveaways to the oil and gas industry, which are largely exempt from property tax. LA, if it were run by good government, could do very well—it has very rich natural resources.

Source: First-hand knowledge; I've been through the system and still have family there who either avoid the public school system or know which schools to avoid and which to attend (certain magnet schools and certain charter schools). Of course, most of the public there do not have the ability to make those choices.

PS. The future of TX public schools will catch "down" to LA if Abbott gets what he wants by diverting funds from public schools to private religious schools.

hey look at the bright side . . . progressives are learning some valuable lessons about indoctrination in public schools, which may help curb some of their zeal in the future. it's really a win-win when you think about it ;)

Yeah, like all the thousands of dollars of tax money we wasted for Paxton and Cruz prancing around the country on their high horses trying to find stolen votes or to try and prove the conspiracy theories about voting machines and suitcases and crap.
