Add Salazar coming in off the bench and getting two RBI base hits against Crochet to the list of crazy things with this team this season
Good effort by Hummel... it just didn't work out. Brown and the bully just gotta finish the game. Insurance runs are welcomed too.
I have really liked Cesar Salazar the last couple years. I expect him to play in the majors into his mid 30s. Good defensive player, pitchers like working with him, always gives competitive at bats and doesn’t strike out much, has enough power to keep pitchers honest. I’d be totally fine with him as the backup catcher for 5 years after next season when Caratini becomes a free agent.
SEA losses 8-0 12 games above 500 with a +14 run-diff. Adding perspective, the Royals are 8 games above 500 with a +59 run-diff. The '24 Mariners and '23 Rangers are two of the luckiest teams in recent memory. We'll see how Seattle's story finishes. Astros must handle their own business too. .
