I’ve heard from many Trump supporters that he is a biblical figure like David and Solomon who also had affairs and mistresses.
I’ve voted Republican a lot in my life. A couple of times, I looked back with regret on that. But I voted for Dole because no you can’t lie under oath and still be the President. We don’t elect Kings….as I’m led to believe. That seems so naive now given who Trump is. He’s pushed the limits for sure. The part that pisses me off is that the other Dole voters at that time don’t have the integrity now to recognize that the man they’re about to vote for is a far greater threat to our Republic than Bill Clinton ever was. Y’all come find me cause if Trump wins I’m absolutely part of the Resistance going forward.
This is the stuff that bothers me the most. I’m reading The Third Reich in Power right now…amazing book. The attention to detail is incredible. But this kind of thing…where all of a sudden you show up to school and there’s a religious poster in your classroom…and we all just kinda don’t realize it just happened…..IT JUST HAPPENED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Utter bullshit. You keep making it so hard for me, as a business owner who would otherwise have reasons to vote Republican, to make sure I never vote Republican ever again
I understand why the issue of the use of Christianity this way is your biggest concern. It’s a concern for me but it’s not my top concern about Trump and MAGA. By far the biggest concern is the fealty to the Constitution and like you I am very troubled by those who claim they are for the Constitution yet often don’t know it or understand it. The role of religion in government is just one example of that.
do satanists get to put the 7 tenants in classrooms too? I One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason. II The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. III One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. IV The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own. V Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs. VI People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused. VII Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
I wouldn't mind voting for the party that does the right thing, but the right things these days usually have a direct price to be paid. Things where if you didn't have a bigger backer, you'd probably be voted out. Maybe Republicanism you grew up with died on Bush Jr's watch on the day Lehman went bust with people in his party wondering why they weren't bailed out sooner. We assumed it came back because that's how a dual party system worked. But it's a Frankenstein's monster comprised of dead and exhausted groups fueled by racial, religious and economic grievance all while the good doctor himself is pillaging the coffers in hopes of living in some multimillion dollar cave off New Zealand.
Republican Candidate Tells Black Americans To Leave US in Juneteenth Message Valentina Gomez, who previously caused outrage for urging voters not to be "weak and gay," accused the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. of being the "most wretched" holiday and that Black people should no longer be seeking reparations. "Reparations from slavery and black victimization is about to be shoved down our throats for the most [wretched] holiday in America," Gomez said. "BLM raised millions. And what did they do for Black lives? It is outrageous to see people ask you for reparations, even though they never went through slavery. These ungrateful people should be celebrating because they were born in the greatest nation to ever exist." "Here's a tip; If you don't like America, kindly, get the f*** out." The video ends with a photo of her posing with an assault rifle while dressed in military style clothing. Gomez, a 25-year-old immigrant from Colombia, has never served in the military. https://www.newsweek.com/gop-candidate-valentina-gomez-juneteenth-missouri-1914897
These 14 decided to go down in history as opposing the federal holiday which celebrates the end of slavery in the United States: Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks Alabama Rep. Mike Rogers Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar California Rep. Tom McClintock California Rep Doug LaMalfa Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson Texas Rep. Chip Roy Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany Trump endorsed 12 of those men.
Something tells me Valentine Ghomes would be a collaborator for Vichy France in a different life. In this life, Everything is for sale.
Anyway…we have a state mandating that public schools hang up the ten commandents Y’all (not you but just generally) gotta stop both sidesing this ****. I’ve voted both sides. I’m tired of hearing it. We’re well past that now.
