There’s been recent reports that San Antonio really covets Sheppard. Might this leak be connected to an interest on Houston’s part to get San Antonio to deal with them? Smokescreen season upon us indeed.

I get what's going on here. They're going to force San Antonio to give up Wemby to guarantee they get Sheppard in the draft. Stone you sly dog you!

You know people don't respect the Rockets FO when them having interest in by far the most obvious perfect pick for them is seen as headline news

For those who don’t know.

Draftexpress (ie Givony and Woo) are known to have by far the best intel-based mock draft, you can go back and check the accuracy year by year.

He is the most connected with everyone involved, especially on the player and agent side, for years before they get to this point.

Feigen and Iko will be getting info and direction from the FO directly, so they can for sure have high quality draft info, but also would be the primary avenue for “smokescreen” info if the Rockets are trying to keep people confused.

I don’t think Feigen and Iko would share real info about who the Rockets want if Stone tells them to keep it tight. They have a cooperative relationship.

Wasserman, Kalbrosky also have real intel. Vecenie questionable. O’Connor pure slop.

 

"Demonstrated" could mean bringing him in for a Houston workout ( like they did for Clingan). Any intel on if this has happened for Reed?

 

It just says that "Front Office and Ownership" are aligned - which is not remotely surprising given that Tillamook installed his son as Deputy Assistant Vice Commander GM and he's been involved in every draft since - a state of constant alignment

 

Vecenie has real connections- but not as many as Givony. Vecenie is also the most honest, if he hasn’t heard anything - he won’t make it up. Givony too often gets info from Lakers or agents.

Reed has been connected to the Rockets for a while now. Not sure why anyone would doubt the validity of this especially with draft express track record.

Its been reported that the Rockets would most likely take Reed if they dont trade the lick for weeks.

All this does is confirm it.

 

As steep as a price as that is I'd still be willing to make that trade. If y'all want to ban me for that so be it.

I just haven’t seen much linkage from other higher drafting Lottoers for Shep. If RS is indeed the choice I would think a trade down would be grand. Detroit for #5 + future pick? Stewart - Jock/Jae? (I’d love that one!)

 

“Connected” is far removed from “demonstrated serious interest, ” esp when coming from Draft Express. And mentioning “ownership” is clearly a first for this draft.

Saying we haven’t heard/read a major leak from the Rockets, wrt who they are favoring the most, doesn’t mean we are questioning Woo. But I’d like him to elaborate on examples of “demonstrated”.

So, tell us, where have your read such intel before?
