He hasn't pitched in almost 10 days... so retroactively going back only 2 days (June 18th --> June 16th) means the injury is much worse than initially stated.

Add another log to the '24 dumpster fire.

Players may be placed on the 10-day injured list "retroactively," meaning the stint is backdated to the day after the last date on which the player appeared in a game. The maximum an IL stint can be backdated is three days, even if a player hasn't appeared in a game for longer than that.

We have off days next Monday and Thursday... and I imagine they want to keep the routine consistent for the remaining 4...

I haven't been a fan of Espada so far, and he wasn't my choice when we hired

But I certainly haven't seen him put pitchers in situations that made them more likely to get injured

You were more likely to get honest injury info out of the Bellichek Patriots than you are the Astros

Injuries all around MLB for sure

I don't see a whole lot of teams with 9 starting pitchers on the IL though, maybe i'm wrong. I'm sure you will fill us in

Either the Astros are lying again about the situation

Or Verlander saw Correa's massage therapist (still better than seeing Watsons)

How long were we into Javiers "sore neck" IL stint when they announced he was having TJ?

Don't know about their role (SP/RP) but the first and only team I looked at was the Dodgers and they have 12 40-man pitchers on the IL
