The guys who suprised us at the start of the season like Meyers, Pena and Caratini are not coming through now.
just when bregman starts to hit. pena and meyers decide to be zero. remind me again, what's the team batting avg.?
Wow, can't believe we ran into this buzzsaw of a White Sox team. They're on fire and literally the best team we've ever played. I mean it's 25 games into the season and they have 19 wins already... Wait, it's almost halfway through the season? *hang's head*
And we are probably first in number of games only scoring in one inning and probably close to last in scoring with RISP. Just a casual guess and observation. No idea how close to being accurate but it seems that way.
It was the only reason to go to the park after the ASB..."We're gonna see some runs and bombs today. Both teams."
Partially because we are not going after guys based on analytics anymore Jon is the perfect example, the eyeball test says he is having great at bats. Yet his Slugging is about 100 points lower than Dubon Maybe you are a big fan of how the team is being run now, and that’s fine we all have the right to feel how we feel Outside of potentially the draft (which Crane/cronies probably aren’t putting a lot of effort on) the organizational decisions since Click left haven’t exactly been stellar
This isn’t really true… Click wanted Abreu too. The Astros signed Abreu, he was supposed to be a 30/100 guy like he had been for a decade. It didn’t work out…. Tucker is hurt, Yordan is out… McCormick has been hurt…. Verlander is hurt… McCullers, Javier, Garcia, France and Graveman are out this year so far. An organization can only have so much depth before it fails - and it looks like that is where the Astros are headed. They can have Blanco and Brown and Arrighetti improve, and have Taylor pitch well and Meyers and Altuve and Bregman …… but that doesn’t make up for missing 4 starting pitchers basically all year… having your #1 and #2 starting pitchers spend time on the DL and losing a high leverage reliever like Graveman. Right now they aren’t good - barely average and if they want to be better they will need a real 1st baseman with a bat, healthy outfielders and at least another solid starting pitcher in trade.
I genuinely believe if the org let Dana Brown do his thing, he can do it. but we wouldn't know because of all the BS going on.
We've finally reached that final point of a period of success where a particular individual or undividuals can no longer carry us through turmoil.. I believe Copernicus wrote that in his undiscovered memoirs ..
