Revenge for 2005, revenge for Julks against us... or revenge for allowing us to grab Abreu? Too bad Abreu missed this... he may have had a hit some where
Not many people know that he was culpable for Covid and also had a hand in swine flu and high blood pressure, generally.
If they win 2 out of 3 for the rest of the season they’d finish with 93 wins and almost certainly make the playoffs. I’d love it if they went on an even hotter streak so they don’t have to play at over a .650 clip the rest of the way, but I’ll be happy with 2 out of 3 from now on.
I have thought in this way for a while, but I honestly think now it's not gonna happen by consistently winning series. We are too far behind We are gonna have to have a 10-2 type of stretch, and THEN start winning series
They don't need to win 8-10 in a row but it would be nice. They need to win 2 out of 3 the rest of the season, which is in itself unlikely Then they need to he sure they don't have any bad series against the teams ahead of them. Sweeping the White Sox then splitting w/ the Mariners or Blue jays doesn't help. If the wins are vs contenders and the losers vs also rans, it would help.
Exactly We know from the experience of Javier, in Astro language "sore neck" is code for "elbow injury"
I would wager quite a bit that the Astros don't make the playoffs without at least one 8 game streak, or a 10-2/12-2 type run
Well the Astros now have lost... McCullers/Garcia/Javier/France: Four starting pitchers for the whole season Verlander/Valdez: Their two best starters have been on the IL already and it isn't the break yet. Graveman/Sousa/Ortega: Three relievers, including a leverage reliever. Jose Abreu: The former MVP and starting first baseman was released for having the worst offensive season in modern baseball. Tucker/McCormick: Two of their starting outfielders - and best player have been on the DL Their best pitcher (Valdez) had a mental breakdown episode on the mound and gave up 7 runs in like 4 minutes and cost the Astros a win. I honestly am not sure what more can happen - the Astros are likely going to need to call up Bloss soon, so that will mean another rookie in the rotation most likely. Hey on the bright side - their expected record is .500%, but old iron glove Abreu cost them to of those wins, Pressly another couple and Espada a couple for doing things like not pinch running for Abreu or Singleton in the bottom of the 10th in a tied game. Overall - they need to go on like an 8-2 or 12-3 type of run to get over .500% and within 6-7 games of Seattle - but that won't happen because the Astros now have a rotation of TBA/Valdez/Brown/Arrighetti/TBA ......... the good news is they can rely on the pen - oh wait.
