I think American GM’s annually underrating euro players is actually going to land us one of Sarr or Risacher the two guys who Udoka can turn into monsters. If we get Sarr forget everything we don’t need cap space, we get straight to building the dynasty. It would be hilarious: Sengun/Adams Jabari/Sarr > can play together too Brooks/Tari Green/Whitmore FVV/Amen 50 wins. We never even seen our own core healthy at the same time. Now we add Sarr. Just an absurdly great collection of talent. We would start to slowly overtake OKC as best young team. Fingers crossed.
Why? I’m tired of this mentality. We pick whomever we deem the best available. Why TF do we care who the Spurs want?
sarr reminds me a bit of amare stoudemire potential wise i’d be fine with either of the frenchies or reed. i don’t see how clingan would fit here though
Personally I don’t think he’ll ever be that prolific a scorer. Stoudemire was no defense at any position I think Sarr will be an elite rim protector and in 2-3 years will have a 3PT shot. Essentially JJJ-lite with better rebounding.
I'm surprised he even got 6 votes. He'd be entering the league at 75 years old already, he'd offer nothing to the current team, and would never play.
I think both the Hawks and Wizard want Clingan but do not want to draft him this high. They both don’t need Risarcher but the Spurs are willing to trade up for him. Hawks take Clingan - they can’t trade back to the Spurs as the Wizards or Houston (to look for a trade) will take Clingan. Wizard take Saar - they don’t need another SF with potential as they have three on their team now. Houston takes Risarcher - trades him and the 44th pick (and maybe next year’s 2nd) to the Spurs for the 4th and 7th. Houston ends up with either Reed, Castle, or Buzelis at 4 plus Salaun at 7. That’s my hopeful outcome for the Rockets.
