Think his overall low strikeout numbers come from like 2-3 starts where he was still dominant. Don’t think he has much left to prove in AA.
I dunno. The K numbers could be him working on something that he was coached to do (it is the minors, after all, results don't always matter), "we want you to go heavy on the cutter/change/whateverball" He's in a small bunch of pitchers who could make a serious impact at some point next season. But they're not rated by the raters too highly, so I wouldn't get my hopes up, right?
Depending on health and what happens at the deadline, the 2nd half starting pitching rotation in AAA could be Arrighetti, Blubaugh, Bloss, Gordon, France, and Henley. Pretty strong.
Bloss is currently Houston's most valuable prospect by my reckoning. I will not be too surprised to see Bloss skip Sugar Land and pass go on his way to Houston, before the all star break. Although that may say more about the state of Houston's rotation than it says about Bloss.
Not a fan of Bloss skipping AAA. Let's see how he does in the PCL. Face a little adversity and a difficult pitching environment.
Yeriel Santos allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out seven in five scoreless for Fayetteville in their 2-0 win over Salem today.
UDFA signee from 2020. I am unsure of his stuff, and he was moved to the bullpen last season, which is usually a sign of a non-prospect, but he’s been dominant this season and looks to have conquered AA. He needs to be moved up to AAA. But if we are looking for a UDFA RP to get excited about, I’m more interested in Logan VanWey.
Huge huge huge opportunity for him. Dezenzo has been rehabbing in FCL for awhile so he should be in Corpus soon too. That lineup should be stacked. I do expect Matthews to struggle in AA at some point. All about if he can evolve. 2B Williams SS Matthews RF Melton 3B Dezenzo CF Cole DH Barber LF Corona 1B Price/Brewer C Palma/Price JC Correa (Carlos’ little brother) apparently was released today.
