The idea that Star Wars was on track to rival MacBeth or War And Peace, with or without Kathleen Kennedy being involved, meanwhile, is totally reasonable and sane.
It didn't need to be, Star Wars was an entire lore written by more talented people a long time ago and Kathleen still decided to go a completely different direction because there is no possible way to make something without injecting identity politics into it..... Which is crazy considering Star Wars was already very political to begin with. Lets be honest, Disney is not worried about making quality content. They are in the business of just simply making content based off of the IP's they have purchased, it does not have to be good.... It just has to exist so people will continue paying for their streaming service.
You're the one who said "top rated classic". To my understanding that doesn't mean 2 Fast, 2 Furious or GI Joe:The Rise of Cobra, but maybe we have different understandings of what a "classic" is. I’m not saying it is the best Star Wars, Those fanboys can’t handle someone trying to tell a different story in a fictional universe. They can’t handle women and people of color being the primary focus.
I stopped watching this kind of garbage quite a while ago, but I did see some clips from the most recent episode and it looks pretty hilarious....albeit unintentionally so. Disney must be allergic to making money putting out BS like this.
I don't know, other Star Wars shows have been review bombed before yet none of them are remotely close to this abysmal low score. I have not seen it but it is a terrible look.
I have to say I loved Rey and Finn after episode 7 and I was so pumped with where it was going,,,,and I ****ing hated what they did to those characters. I had zero problem with them being female and black….i hated the direction they took it all trying to “subvert expectations.” The worst mistake they made was buying that IP and doing a Skywalker trilogy with no outline of where it was going and turning it over to 3 different directors to make sense and coherence of. It and those characters deserved better imo
