The Texans and the Astros have traded places. Houston can not be allowed to have more than one winner at a time.
I really wanna like Dana and am optimistic about what he can do for the farm system. But we really need a Ivy League Gordon Gekko looking mutherfercker to come in as a President of Baseball Ops to save our credibility with other teams and the media. Dana is embarrassing.
What Dana can do for the farm system he can do while someone else does the general managering of the team.
Yeah that’s ideal, let him keep the title just hire someone above him. Kinda like a Elton Brand/ Daryl Morey situation.
This front office is so freaking delusional man, nothing has changed. Either make changes or continue to fail, this is insanity. I feel like Dana thinks the fanbase is stupid and we're not. There was only one small portion of the season where it looked like things were maybe turning around, and that was when Abreu's ass was sent to Florida. He comes back and the team looks lifeless again. You want to start somewhere, start there. You know how many players have been DFA this year already by other teams with numbers much better than Abreu's?
" We'll do whatever we need to do to get this club over the hump." - Astros GM Mhhhmmm. Oh I believe Dana wants to do some moves. But the higher ups still think they can fix Abreu.
I agree, I think if you asked him in private he wants home gone. I also think if you asked Espada in private, he doesn't want to play him either, though I am less sure about that.
Franchise’s are like civilizations. There’s the ambitious, hardened, great people that built them…….these initial builders die handing off what they built to people who did nothing to build or earn the great civilization they inherited (usually weaker because necessity did not exist to motivate them to be otherwise)…..the civilization declines before ultimately falling making way for another civilization on the upswing to take the mountain top from them. I’ll leave it to you imagination as to what part of the sine curve I think The Astros’ organization is currently on
