For the money invested in him they can easily afford to have him go through extensive physical rehabilitation. Surely, they have already done some. Surely he has been through vision testing. What is it? Back problems? Premature aging? What happened during his brief stay in Florida. Apparently not much. With the medical technology available today, surely they can "fix" this guy.

Abreu now has 11 hits this season...not a single one of them was pulled.

He has had some success going the opposite way since he came back, but seems almost incapable of turning on a ball anymore.

He cant catch up with anything and father time has caught up with him, there is no "fixing" him, he is who he shows he is.

With him a year older next year... and still under contract... I am kinda frightened that they will trot him out there opening day and final day of 2025 out of pride.

Abrue and Goldschmidt both hit the pasture about the same time last year.

Nah, Goldschmidt isn't nearly as bad as Abreu this season, although I'm not sure who's going to want to sign him this upcoming off-season.

How much longer does this go on for? All star break? Trade deadline?

He's hitting .133 over his last 30 at bats. That's only slightly better than his season average. Florida did basically nothing for him. I don't see anything at all to make me believe that he is going to turn this around. Continuing to play him only hurts the team and It's a really bad look for the organization.

Disagree on Paul Goldschmidt, his swing is way better than Abreu.

Before Friday? I’d say almost zero chance that happens.

When the Astros play the White Sox next week just give him back to them. Please. Enough is enough is enough.

They look inept and rudderless. This is no longer a championship caliber organization.

This front office seems to give a stubborn Oldman mentality. They'll stick with what they originally decided on and won't change due to pride or something. They don't seem to be the driven and innovative team willing to do what it takes to win, like during the great run. I guess every team settles and needs a reset.

Bagwell gave a really good report on him.
