Yeah you're full of ****. He dismissed the Justices on the court and installed his own people to make it where he could run again, against their Constitution. He is locking uo peope with no trial. He showed up with soldiers to the legislative assembly to get his way. Putin gets 90% of the vote. Don't talk about vote totals in a corrupt ass country where the guy in power calls himself a dictator. What about locking up the people who violated COVID restrictions? Just because he reduced crime does not make him good. Yes he is popular because he is locking up "criminals" by holding mass trials, if they even get one. People need to read history. This os how it starts. Abolish the Constitution by declaring a state of emergency, lock up the criminals, not verifying if they are criminals or not. Then after all the criminals are locked up, start locking up those against you. Hell most countries with dictators don't have a lot of crime. The dude is a facist.

Critics always talk about the rights of the criminals.

They never talk about the rights of innocent people to not be murdered, sexually assaulted, extorted, robbed etc etc.

Bukele is extremely popular amongst the people on the ground in El Salvador. Why? Because he took a country that was one of the most dangerous in the world and turned into one of the safest. Were some people wrongfully detained in that process? Probably but, by and large, he got the criminal element out of society. No reformative program on that scale is going to be perfect or have 0 judicial errors. We don't even have that in the developed world.

I think the people of El Salvador know what's better for their everyday life then someone sitting behind their computer in the U.S.

Ahhh **** it if innocent people were locked up with no trial. There has to be a trial to have judicial errors.

I don't think anyone wants to see innocent people locked up with no trial.

I think El Salvador was in an extreme position and required extreme measures. I imagine the overwhelming majority of those detained were criminal elements.

AHHHH **** it if innocent people are murdered, raped, robbed and extorted as common practice in El Salvador amirite?

You have missed my entire point. This is straight out of a dictators's playbook. Fire the Judges. Replace them with your own judges. Suspend the Constitution. Have yourself illegally elected. Opress the press. Lock up everyone who even looks like a criminal. Don't give them trials. Once that is done start locking up your opposition en mass.

Do you actually believe what you are saying? It is like going to inner city Chicago and locking up everyone you think might be a criminal and not giving them a trial or giving them mass trials. You really can't believe in that, can you?

He is just spewing leftist propaganda, the known gangsters that were murdering and raping children all go to The Cecot...... The famous enormous prison. Look at any non government documentary of this prison, does anyone look innocent to you? Bukele himself said they weren't even going after conspirators.

The people voted the corrupt politicians and judges out, the people asked for a constitution reform and the people elected Bukele in a legal election accepted by every nation in this world. There is no censorship in El Salvador, if there was El Pais and El Faro two opposing media outlets wouldn't be talking $hit on the daily about the country. Even those who oppose the government get to enjoy freedom of speech and freedom of not getting raped and murdered.

Every single battle El Salvador has won has been democratically by vote..... Every official has been elected. Your propaganda is all wrong.

The people did not vote out the judges you ****ing clown. The self proclaimed dictator removed and replaced them with yes men so he could run again. I dont give a flying **** if 80% of the country here wanted Barack Obama to run again. You do not usurp the judges and violate the Constitution to make it happen. They then changed the number of legislators. He then manipulated it where his party would control 58 seats out of 60. How about looking up freedom of the press in El Salvador and all the press saying how they are harassed. You want a dictator there just like you want one here.

Oh yes you *fcking do when the entire f*cking government is in bed with the gangs and allowing the people to die so they could fill their pockets and then flee the country without any accountability and blood in their hands. This is what you cucks love, to get absolutely *cked by corruption and crime. Nah, the time for that came and passed in El Salvador.... No matter how much you hate that El Salvador did not accept your lunacy the people are free. The government was elected by the people and it all started with one man willing to stand up to the corruption and stand up for his country.

The press is not harassed lol... omg bruh jus stop.....

If it was left to @Xopher El Salvador would still have the highest murder rate in the world.

Criminals would run the country. People wouldn’t leave their houses due to fear of extortion, rape, violent assault or murder etc etc.

He has provided no viable alternative to reforming the country so quickly or drastically in a positive direction with huge amounts of popular support.

Have a small percentage of innocent people been wrongfully detained? Probably. But nothing is perfect in this world, including our criminal justice system and we all hope the innocent are able to clear their names sooner than later.

Xopher is an authoritarian Leftist. If it isn't his team's idea, there is nothing to celebrate and everything to criticize. If Bukele was a leftist, he would be a hero among gods.

I can't judge Bukelle's civil rights suspensions until he steps down.

Civil order will beat the ideal of a free society was long as the bills are paid and mouths fed.

Usually the military does something like this to bring back public order.

It's usually rare for them to voluntarily give up power or step down. Most turn into "benevolent" dictators.

I wish him and their people luck.
