Well some of that is a tax issue.

You wouldn't need as much social programs if more of the tax cuts of the past truly trickled to the masses. We've manage to create a system where hard work led to home ownership and a good life and turn it into hard work for survival while helping a small percentage of people get obscenely rich.

I am a "disaffected pluralist" - "Separate from traditional liberals, a distinct faction of disaffected pluralists has arisen. They are economically and socially liberal but are deeply disillusioned with the political and economic system in the U.S."

It's simpler now for those who care about sorting out the facts.

AI is a double edged sword, but it's original intention was to make it work for you.

I guess if one is on the newsmax end, they would piss their panties over big tech being supposedly left leaning with the sources. Just feed it the things you want and quiz it like a teacher.

I got 'traditional liberal', though I'm very close to the cluster of disaffected pluralists. Not sure I like the name, but I suppose I would pick it over the other ones if I had to choose.

This poll is awful. It lacks all nuance.

Nobody is 'assigned' a gender. My parents or hospital or teacher did not assign anything. If a baby lacks a clear definition of a vagina or penis, then perhaps someone could be 'assigned'.

    Civics:
Question 1: How proud am I of American history? I'm very proud. We created a unique awesome country with plentiful resources. We ended slavery. We have continuously helped in global conflicts. We are a massive tech hub. Almost all 'diversity' groups are doing better.

Question 2: Yes, our country stands above all other countries. We hold the defacto global reserve currency.

Question 3: How is life for 'people like me'? WTF question is that. I am a unique individual that identifies with many different types of people. Stupid question. OFC i am going to do better than 50 years ago.

Question 4: My digital calendar is littered full of diverse celebration days. Unless you're an oppressive controlling Christian, almost everyone should say 'better'.

Its highly amusing that I am 'more optimistic' therefore, I am labeled traditional conservative.

One could be moderate for a conservative. A moderate conservative is not a modern Republican though.

I got on the outskirts of Traditional Liberal. Pretty much in the area between Liberal, Populist, & Libertarian. Of course the questions are too few and too simplistic to get a true position.

Had some of the same objections. I just said I Don't Know when I didn't like a question.

As for optimism, it makes some sense. If you're optimistic, you're more likely to be happy with the status quo. Pessimists think we need to change things. Status quo is the home turf of traditional conservatives and traditional liberals.

I approach it from a rational optimist perspective. Its easy to find the negative in any situation such as healthcare, however spanning out its overwhelming optimistic.

A simple test should be used - As a [position], would I rather have lived 50 years ago or would I prefer to be in the current situation?

I prefer to contrast a conservative vs progressive, where as a conservative tends to hold on to traditions and a progressive is much more open to new ideas. I find a conservative to be incongruent with a rational optimist. That said, as with nearly everything, the further out one goes on the spectrum, the more unhealthy the extreme becomes.

I agree - when my answer choices are only "Yes" or "No" it's gonna label me as one extreme or the other.
And with questions like regulation, I feel there should be more regulation in some industries, and less regulation in others. It doesn't give me a good way to answer that.
