the “injured Luka” narrative is so laughable Who isn’t dealing with something at this point in the season? they way they try to milk it is so ridiculous Wasn’t Luka downgraded to “questionable” for game 2? he somehow always looks just fine on offense even tho he’s supposedly on the verge of a leg amputation…but whenever he’s guarded well or misses a shot, that’s when the fake limping down the court to play “defense” begins…he might even throw in some grimacing as well

Luka is a bad defender but he's big enough that the Mavs can usually hide him on the worst scorer of the opposing team 1-4. That makes his overall defensive impact not that bad against many teams. You can hide a lot of bad habits in the corner against a stretch 4. The Celtics don't have a guy in the starting lineup the Mavs can hide him on. He has to guard the whole game. But, every player has flaws. Let's be honest, Luka is never gonna get his body in the kind of shape required to play good defense at the guard position.
