Seth has a decent track record the last ~2 years... and the 7th inning with tie is not yet time to burn Scott. Montero pitched 3 straight games. Any option would have been better than him except Press who would have made 3rd straight appearance as well.
The team is not that bad. At the very minimum, this team should be better than the '20 team. This team just can't get out of its own way so that it can finally go on the run it needs to snap out of this funk. Get Espada out now and pray that causes the spark that leads to said run.
Befuddling moments of the night: 1. Pulling Seth after 2 pitches. 2. Letting Abreu anywhere near a bat. 3. Burning 2 bench players to sub out Chas. 4. Letting fresh arms rot on the bench. 5. Keeping Montero out there after the 2nd error. 6. The postgame interview.
This is it, he doesn't have to worry about another scandal. Hand the reigns over and get TF out tha way. He's turning into Jerry Jones.
Sunday, I turned off the game as soon as Pressly came in. Monday, I turned off the game as soon we failed to score in the top of the 9th. Both times, I knew EXACTLY what was going to happen and wanted to save myself the anguish. Remember when watching the Astros used to be fun?
Watching them lose late at night to an NL West team to drop even further below .500 made me feel like a kid again.
Makes no sense at all. I never ever questioned management before, even during the Jimy Williams era and the Lunhow rebuild times. But this current leadership is complete dog ****
It may be too late but if not SOMETHING must change to change the results. 1) get rid of Abreu but that's no longer enough 2) get rid of Pressly. He still has value and could pitch like a CY Young contender the rest of the year if he's somewhere else, but is in his own head and will continue to lose games if he is here. 3) make a Verlander or Grienke type move to kick start the season. Or Trade Bregman, Pressly and anyone who will not be a positive part of 2025.
I’ll be here if they “flip the switch”, but here in mid-June it certainly like the good times have passed us by
The only fun thing about watching Abreu in that last AB was listening to the guy behind home plate make fun of him for having a batting average of .123.
I get not having a healthy backup catcher last night... but I have 7 other players ahead of Loperfido I would demote/cut/send to Bauerland.
