Here’s how his life will change now that he's been convicted.

    Travel restrictions
As a convicted felon, Trump’s passport will not automatically be seized by the U.S. government. But he could find it more difficult to travel to some countries.
The travel restrictions would potentially complicate Trump's presidency if he were to win another term in office.

Thirty-seven nations—including Canada and Mexico—bar individuals with criminal records from entering their borders.

    Voting rights
Convicted felons do not automatically lose their right to vote in the U.S.; different states have different policies on the issue.
But Trump would be unable to cast a vote for himself if he’s incarcerated at the time of the November election.
    Gun ownership
New York state and federal law prohibits individuals convicted of a felony from possessing firearms, meaning Trump has to turn over
all of his firearms to authorities or legally pass them off to another person ahead of his sentencing on July 11.
    Probation officer meetings
While Trump remains free on his own recognizance, he will soon be interviewed by a probation officer or psychologist for a pre-sentence report that
judge Merchan will use to help decide his punishment.

Man I would love to be a fly on the wall for that psych eval. He should sign off to live stream it. He could pay off the year's budget with the proceeds.

I can see how Trump will be allowed to have and use a passport, now that he is convicted felon. I also could see that the state of NY disallowing Trump to leave the state. What is to stop Trump from traveling to MaL and never again setting foot in NY.

Doesn't sound like a big deal. Every non-hostile country will make an exception to allow Trump to visit. Being able to cast 1 vote in a presidential election is in fact so infinitesimally small that it will have no discernable effect on the outcome. As for gun ownership, supposedly pre-presidency he had a conceal carry license and a couple of pistols, but I can't really see him as a real gun owner. Anyway, now he has Secret Service to be his trigger pullers.

    Nice gaslighting attempt.

Fck that. Donald Trump is a convicted felon. Also... Donald Trump... your godking... is a convicted felon.

Oh and also hes found liable for sexual assault, and his company has been found guilty of fraud, etc. etc. etc.

But get a little bit mad at us for being just a little bit optimistic about your cult leader finally having an ounce of justice and accountability.

Go cry yourself to sleep or move to Russia for all I care. I could care less about your MAGA snowflake tears.

Donald Trump being a convicted felon is like 123rd in my list of reasons he shouldn't be president.

Democrats shouldn't hope him being a felon is some magical gift that will make them win an election.

It seems like the modern Democrat party plan to win elections from here on out is hope the other side is an abject fascist. Why? I guess it's so they don't have to discuss policy issues as much.

"You know Trump will genocide the Palestine even harder, please vote for Joe"

In just going to stay out of this one. I live in Massachusetts so I'm not going to feel guilty if Trump wins. I just don't think either candidate deserves a high vote count to brag about when they win so I'm not going to contribute to that.

No one here needs to remind me Trump is a lot worse than Biden. He is. But it's like saying ISIS is better than Bashar Al-Asad. Does it really matter?

Democrats aren’t. Manynunckuded here have acknowledged that this likely changes little in the election.
Is the Democratic Party responsible for nominating Trump?
I’ll say the same thing I’ve said before to others who plan on sitting out the election that is your right but you seem to know what is at stake here and the whole problem of why we even such things as battleground states is so many don’t get involved in the election or just sit it out.

Also it’s rather odd to be comparing the President who’s gotten more legislation passed on issues that progressives have said they care about (infrastructure, climate change, child poverty, healthcare) than any president in decades as being Bashir Assad to Trump’s ISIS.

    Harry Litman

In the federal system, a person is not technically a felon or a convict until sentencing. But Trump was convicted in New York, and that state imposes this designation at the time of the jury verdict. That already entails privations. The New York City Police Department is seeking to revoke his license to carry a concealed weapon. Thirty-seven countries—including Canada and the United Kingdom—have laws prohibiting felons from entering (though they can, of course, make exceptions). [...]

Probation officials are likely to emphasize Trump’s incorrigibility in the report they provide to Justice Juan Merchan, who has a reputation of being tough on white-collar offenders. Personally, I don’t think Trump will serve prison time in 2024 for this particular conviction. If Merchan does impose a sentence of jail followed by probation, my guess is he will then stay the sentence to permit Trump to pursue his one mandatory appeal. Many factors will weigh in favor of a prison sentence at some point, including the 10 violations of Merchan’s gag order, the recent criminal conviction of the Trump Organization, and possibly the finding in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trials that Trump sexually assaulted Carroll (which Trump continues to deny).

Assuming Merchan does impose, and then stay, a “split sentence” of prison plus probation, it will not be the game changer Trump hopes. A stayed sentence does not imply freedom from court oversight. The very best Trump can hope for is the same measure of oversight Merchan already exercises over him, which is the source of authority for the gag order that remains in place. Trump’s conditions of release would remain within Merchan’s discretion, and that’s where they would remain should the appeals court reverse the judgment, assuming the district attorney elects to retry the case, as I think he would.

I can't tell if this is a childish reaction to a preferred candidate not winning the Democrat nomination, or if its just selfishly hoping that the the Democrat that did win the nomination loses so you can come back later and say "see, I told you so."

But for someone that supposedly is critical of the campaign and election as not "having to discuss policy issues as much", go ahead and name the policies you tilt towards donald trump more than Joe Biden? If you go through your policy issues and find you agree more with trump, then congratulations, you aren't a Democrat anyway.

And simply saying "I'm not going to feel guilty if Trump wins" doesn't free you from responsibility. Imagine if everyone took such a myopic and irresponsible approach. America is truly screwed if people do that, and deserve whatever happens to our government, judicial and legal system.

But hey, you sure showed everyone...

Do you actually read posts? Or just like the first sentence?

Seriously. Introspect about labeling others childlike. Read an entire post first before jumping the gun.

In terms of body counts of civilians I can compare Assad and ISIS to American presidents.

And yes I can lay the blame on the civilian deaths in Gaza on Biden. The average press conference with Blinken or their press Secretary shows how much cover they give to the state of Israel by constantly downplaying IDF war crimes and creating imaginary red lines.

Oh, you wanted someone to discuss policy issues in response to your post? I included your entire post in my response... what policy issues did you bring up? All I saw was "both sides-ism" to explain why you were sitting out the election and how you didn't feel guilty doing so. Though I did challenge you to consider policy issue differences.

Or is there some invisible ink section I missed?

    Please read the entire post.

    You still haven't.

Stop being lazy and offended so easily. Again, read the actual entire post.
