Since apparently people seem to forget that Biden isn’t just not Trump but has passed more meaningful legislation than any president since LBJ.

You guys really need to stick with one narrative. Which is he? A stuttering old man or the mastermind genius that's behind Trump's legal woes. Personally I like the narrative that Trump is a doddering old convict because it's true.

Top pollster suggests it may be time for Biden to drop out of 2024 presidential race as approval rating hits ‘all-time low’
    By Victor Nava
    Published June 10, 2024, 10:13 p.m. ET

Pollster Nate Silver warned Monday that President Biden’s approval ratings are so low that it may be time for him to reconsider seeking re-election in November.

“Biden just hit a new all-time low in approval (37.4%),” the data analyst and founder of FiveThirtyEight wrote on X, referencing his organization’s latest average of the president’s job approval numbers.

“Dropping out would be a big risk,” Silver argued. “But there’s some threshold below which continuing to run is a bigger risk.”

“Are we there yet? I don’t know,” the polling guru acknowledged. “But it’s more than fair to ask.”

Silver has long been concerned with the 81-year-old incumbent’s ability to beat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

Silver caused a stir in February when he argued that there might be Democrats who are better equipped to take on the 77-year-old former president. Last month, he suggested Biden should consider stepping aside.

“What’s clearer [in my opinion] is that Democrats would have been better served if Biden had decided a year ago not to seek a second term, which would have allowed them to have some semblance of a primary process and give voters a say among the many popular Democrats across the country,” he said Monday.

Silver noted that Biden is in “MUCH worse shape,” in terms of polling, than he was in 2020 heading into Election Day, when he held leads in the swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and North Carolina.

Several recent surveys show Trump ahead of Biden in all of those states.

Silver suggested Biden’s age may be to blame for his lackluster support, calling it an “extremely understandable concern” for voters.

“Biden’s age is something voters are overwhelmingly consistent about mentioning in polls,” he said. “The concern has persisted through various phases of media vibes.”

“The side-by-side video comparisons of Biden now vs e.g. 2012 are also extremely revealing,” Silver continued. “There’s been an obvious change.”

    “I think it’s borderline gaslighting to imply it’s just a media/vibes thing.”

Silver noted that in his estimation Trump should also consider dropping it out.

“Biden would lose by 7 points,” the pollster said of a scenario in which the presumptive Republican nominee is not the party’s candidate for president.

The president has given no indication that he plans to step aside before his matchup with Trump.

Don't you ever get tired of this? Pretending to be a "moderate independent" while taking it up the ass for trump? You've been doing it for 4 years now

Why the far-right surge in European elections could be an omen for Trump

    https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/11/politics/trump-european-union-elections-analysis/index.html

    excerpt:

US voters don’t take direction from foreigners, and American presidential elections, which play out state by state, are far different from those for the European Union. Plus, Trump’s win eight years ago had more to do with the deficiencies of Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign than Brexit. But President Joe Biden should be concerned. The latest campaign in Europe successfully road tested a message that mixes a potent political cocktail — public anger over what is perceived to be out-of-control migration, the pain of voters facing high prices and the cost to individuals of fighting climate change. Trump is hitting these themes hard in battleground states that will decide the White House race.

Another lesson of the European elections is that in an age of inflation, incumbents are vulnerable to a disgruntled electorate. When Biden arrives at the G7 summit in Italy this week, he’ll join a quartet of four other politically diminished Western leaders. French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are smarting from their rebuke in European elections that rewarded far-right parties that echo the continent’s dark past. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s low approval ratings mean he might not even lead his Liberal Party into elections due by the end of next year. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to be wiped out in next month’s general election after 14 years of Conservative rule. Ironically, the most secure European leader at the G7 will be Giorgia Meloni, the right-wing prime minister of Italy, a country known for dispensing with leaders at a hectic rate. Meloni’s party won big over the weekend, making her one of the most powerful leaders on the other side of the Atlantic.

I saw that piece and it’s disappointing that this isn’t more widely known. Instead we are flooded with rhetoric that Biden is responsible for high gas prices and did nothing to lower them.

This isn’t something to be ignored but there are several differences. Inflation is much higher in Europe than it is in the US and their economies are weaker. Also the US didn’t do moves like shut down all nuclear plants but is even building new ones.
