Well, we know no matter what the Astros don't believe in completing a sweep when it's gift wrapped to them. I'll say 2 out of 3 , and a series win.

Brother Radricky, let's pray on this some and reflect more on the values of Christ as we do. Thanks.

Giants are mediocre, so no slouch (better record than Astros).

Stros are probably the better team all things considered, and Houston need sweeps.

So... Astros will take great step forward (sweep), decent step (2-1), bad step (1-2), or complete garbage step (0-3).

Would you guys, right now, take:
    1) a guaranteed 2-1 series victory or
    2) whatever happens besides 2-1 victory?

I'm taking 2 despite only having ONE better outcome when TWO other lesser outcomes exist.

Skills and Luck Meter will prevail in Houston's favor. DYNASTY

They will **** it up some how. Lose 2 of 3 to off set the 2 of 3 they won against the Angels, and we will find ourselves back where we were.

We're not quite good enough to sweep a team yet. Keep working, boys!

There is not a large enough sample size of data to determine our how we respond after a blown game this season. Wait a minute, it appears there is.

Exactly how I feel. Every time we start to think we're digging ourselves out of a hole we go right back to digging. No reason to think they've turned it around when they keep losing games in similar fashion.

The Astros have been on a 93 win pace over the past 30 days. Its the days before that dug a really big hole that turning it around may still lead to the Astros coming up short.

It was 95 win pace before they **** the bed in the 8th and 9th innings of their game against the Angels.

The Astros over the last 20 games have played the Angels 6 times, Oakland 3 times, and St. Louis, Seattle and Minnesota....

In those 20 games the Astros are 10-10..... and that was having 9 games alone against Oakland and Anaheim.......

They have been overall pretty mediocre... any movement that they have made was earlier when they swept Oakland and took two out of three from Detroit.

The Astros are playing like a .500% club...... if they want to be serious, they need to sweep series from really bad teams like the A's and Angels.... which they didn't... they went 4-2 in those 6 games and then were .500% against mediocre teams like the Cards and Twins.

The Astros have a difficult pitching match up against the Giants, they need to win 2 out of 3 at a minimum - and then take advantage of the rest of the schedule coming up - they have the White Sox, Tigers, Mets, Rockies and a three game set with Baltimore where they need to win one out of 3.

The second half of the schedule is a LOT harder than the first - and is why the Astros are not really playing all that much better when you consider the schedule.

In the second half the Astros have the Dodgers, Phillies, Indians, Seattle again, Royals, Red Sox.

This next month is going to tell whether the season is over or not. They need to be over .500 in a month of its going no where.

The blown games against the M's, the Angels, Wash, Oak..... those have kept the Astros under .500%

Given the sample of games completed, my guess is that what you see is what you get and will keep getting.

That is kind of where I am as well. I keep hoping that they go on a tear winning 8 out of 10 ....... but every time that is about to happen - Abreu commits an error, the pen implodes or the bats fall asleep.

It's so frustrating. Every time I think we're about to turn things around...we lose 2/3 to the Angels at home....or fail to sweep the inferior A's and Cards......or lose 3/4 to Seattle...or blow an easy chance to sweep the Angels on the road...

It's always something with this team.
