When Luis Garcia comes back... would that at all change the bullpen roles? I imagine Seth going from long reliever to leverage reliever...
I guarantee you the stat heads in the organization are looking at the FIP of 2.50, the 12K per 9, and miss % and say it’s bad luck… and I would be cool with that a month ago, but it’s the middle of June.
Knowing the Astros - they will try to have Garcia in the rotation. If he isn’t in the rotation, then sure he could become a leverage reliever. The Astros and a number of other teams think Garcia could be a power reliever.
Can’t wait for more pitching. Starters. Relievers. Anyone. LMC and Garcia back - i no longer care where they are pitching. Anywhere would help.
If the Astros do go the reliever route, he would be available sooner since he does not need to build up. I can see him following the same path has McHugh post-injury.
Yes Mr. Espada….why did you take out Seth Martinez after getting 2 outs in the 6th? The baserunner reached on an error. Plus Seth hadn’t pitched in 5 days and could have possibly given you multiple innings. I’ll sit and wait on your answer….
In a covid year lmao how many was that 60 games? Then went to the alcs Dusty knows how to motivate players. Plenty of guys had career years under him, see Chas. Dumb fan base scapegoated him for all the teams struggles. We would be in better position with him here now than espada.
That complete game by Framber to 'reset the bullpen' was something that Espada couldn't resist taking advantage of...
The entire reason the Astros are under .500 is because of Presley and Hader. It’s absolutely mind boggling how such a perceived strength has turned into a liability.
Like what? If anything, I am a complete homer for Bregman, Pressly, McHugh, Gurriel, Castro, Altuve (minus his baserunning), Correa, Harris, Devo, and heck, Morgan Ensberg more than any of you here. I am justified for my frustration of Dusty, Maldy, and Bags. Only you and Radricky think I am off my rocker.
Team chemistry matters (hence, why I am anti-Bauer), but the bullpen of Neris-Abreu-Pressly did not need an upgrade especially when you had the likes of Maton and Stanek as your "B-team" relievers along with Bielak and Martinez in the mix. All we had to do was run it back and find a replacement for Graveman and Sousa -- and both were bonus arms in all honesty.
