He melted down the last game against the Angels, no doubt… and then he throws a complete game against them on the road. But this is exactly the point. People remember more of Framber’s bad starts than his good ones (even though theres still a huge ace-like disparity between them)… but other TOR pitchers don’t necessarily get the same scrutiny. Really wish he could have gotten the extension earlier on vs. Javier. He’s a horse… these guys don’t magically appear out of thin air.
I dunno...having to wonder "are we getting good/bad Framber today; good/bad JV; etc..." is just a thing this year. There's only one Framber meltdown I can blame on anybody but him: the one where he was inexplicably left in to blow a 6 run lead in 1 inning. *That* one's on the manager.
He is a horse but to be honest you never know what you are going to get out of this particular horse. Normally with horses you can go back over the last couple of outings and determine whether they are rounding into form and due for a good outing. With Framer you never know. Sometime all it takes to get Framer off his game is one missed call or one play that doesn't go his way or a batter comes up works the count gets on base after 10-12 pitches and the opposing team is able to get inside his head. Next thing you know bases are loaded then the wheels come off and then before you know it Framer is in full meltdown mode. Seen it happen way to often. He has pitched some great games for us. Last night was one of those games. In fact last three starts have been solid. Hope he is able to keep it up. This team is going nowhere this year without him.
All I know about Framber is 6/2/1/2/9 and for that I’m forever grateful, I’d like to see the guy stay here myself……
