    I don’t think Apple and google told Newsom to raise the wage at McDonald’s.
    Plus yes a software engineer makes more money than a kid at the drive thru.

    Also Los Angeles is not a tech hub
    It’s for entertainment and lots of industrial such as automotive

    raising the minimum wage has backfired cause restaurants are shutting down or laying off people and it’s raised the prices for the consumer

    I took economics unlike woke people
    Revenue - costs = profit

    Actually, the problem is caused because California is the land of the billionaires, where movie stars, musicians, tech mogels, and the mega rich work, live, and build their billion dollar homes. Or, those mega rich people who simply want to live in Cali for the climate and to mingle with the stars. They all drive up the prices of property in all the most populated areas, and even in the rural areas they choose to build their billion dollar retreats from the cities. Then, businesses are forced to jack up their prices because the real estate is so high and everyone suffers who isn't rich. Yeah, it's no wonder the homelessness problem is so bad, or so many live near poverty even if someone works 50 hours a week making $25 an hour as a blue collar worker.

    apparently woke people don’t understand a thing about California or real estate in general

    the reason why property values are so high in California is that property taxes are set at when you buy the house not at market rate . So if someone bought a house in 1990, his taxes are from the 90s. If he sells his house and tried to rebuy it, the tax rate would be for 2024.
    Nobody really sells , instead they become landlords cause it’s more profitable.
    Throw in limited land and heavy regulations on new buildings , the prices are high.

    ask anyone from California, they’re the ones in who just bought houses in Austin and Katy for cash no down payments.

    it’s not because they have rich people there.
    but that’s the prerequisite of buying a million dollar house. Also a one million dollar house in San Fran means you live in the hood

    It’s all true but you can pretend it’s not cause you don’t live in California and aren’t paying $10 for a Big Mac

    Companies can adjust their prices if they want to, of course they need to raise to survive, but in the end, raising minimum is a great thing, we should get rid of tipping all together...

    And people that force salaried workers to work more than 40 hours without overtime should be held to overtime rules as well.

    We have to quit SCREWING our workers/us.

    After you and your friends trash Berkeley’s campus for Gaza and want to get some vegan pizza

    You might have to keep driving a long way to find a place open breh

    I’ve met young teenagers with a better understanding of economics than that poster. The 4th grade vernacular is a dead giveaway.

    Woke people are dumb as hell, they don't understand that businesses are in it to make money and not to provide jobs..... They provide jobs when they make money but when Newscum comes and forces the businesses to pay more money for the job they are providing the businesses are no longer making enough money to warrant the hassle of staying open.....

    Goodbye to almost 10,000 jobs - hello higher food costs - this is what they do

    instead of making it easy for businesses given what it has against it, they make it even more difficult...
    In Tennessee- you can have a small business, and as long as you earn $100,000 or less as a sole proprietor you only need a minimal business tax license - which costs $15 .... Cali wants at least $800 even for businesses that pull in nothing

    Just a million reasons to NOT live or do business in Cali

    In-N-Out generally treat their employees well with more than generous benefits and higher wages. When min wage went up, they gave their workers a raise above the min wage.

    Replies about no one eating McD using coupons for fast food is using lazy narrow minded garbage talking points.

    Newsom raised the min wage because of housing and rent inflation. Ofc he hasn't done much to solve that issue or even address it with actionable goals or timetable so...

    Housing in California is not high because of inflation , it’s one factor
    Nobody sells their house and nobody builds new homes so the supply is low
    @Salvy
    @ROXRAN
    Seriously doubt people in California like paying high prices for fast food or
    Not having fast food
    Due to crime
