I'm still not 100% there on Alpi as a future #1A type of dude, but I generally agree (about what phase of the rebuild we're in, and about him being our best guy to build around right now) Yeah, I was speaking from Washington's perspective, not the Rockets
Maybe if they trade down, but there's too many better players ahead of him for him to be in consideration at 3
I see him mostly as a 2 who could evolve into a combo guard. I’d take him as high as #6. I’d take him over Kenecht and Dillingham.
Don’t bring your sex life into this. Just kidding. Clingan is just a bad fit for the Rockets, they will not draft him unless its to trade him later.
Has anyone changed their opinion of the euro prospects after their draft combine measurables came in? Risacher: 6'8.5" ht w/o shoes, 6'9.5" wingspan, 31" max vert Salaun: 6'8.75" ht w/o shoes, 7'1.5" wingspan, 32" max vert Topic: 6'5.75" ht w/o shoes, 6'5.5" wingspan, vert not measured I feel like it definitely helps their stock that the high end estimates of their size was legit. It's funny to see the vertical numbers at Zach Edey levels but I didn't really expect much there.
I like Salaun as a project. How far will he fall in the draft? Wouldn’t mind a trade up into the late 1st round to grab and stash him.
Shot is there and sees the floor well. With hard work over the summer the handles will hopefully come. Crazy confidence is the key. Will he rise like 13 or wilt like the Jimmers and Morrisons.
Why? We already have a third string center. The center position is the strongest and deepest on the team.
I continue to be excited about taking one of Sarr, Risacher, or Sheppard at #3 if we keep the pick. Two excellent shooters or a switchy defensive center who may be able to stretch the floor one day. If those are the 3 BPAs then the rockets lucked out because they are all good fits.
It would be nice to have two tall switchy 2-way 38/39% long range shooters at the 4/3, especially if they are gonna keep Jalen and Sengun. But I feel like our guard situation needs the most help. We are very lucky Fred played 75 games last yr. It’s literally the most games he’s ever played in a season. We can’t expect that to continue and he’s our best shooter and ball handler in our backcourt.
