    First news I’ve seen:

Grant Sputore will direct the next installment in Legendary's Monsterverse franchise.
Legendary’s Monsterverse has found a new master of disaster. The studio has tapped Grant Sputore to direct the next theatrical outing in the franchise following March’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Sputore came up from the world of commercials, and as a features director helmed the sci-fi movie I Am Mother, starring Hilary Swank. The film bowed at Sundance before hitting Netflix in 2019.

The new Monstervese feature is described as a continuation of the franchise centering Godzilla, Kong and an assortment of other Titans. The script comes from prolific genre scribe Dave Callaham, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Joey, do you like movies about giant monsters?

I haven't seen it yet either. I was a bit disappointed by Minus One

I liked Minus One in the theater but went in with zero knowledge or expectations. Very very old school.

The newer one with Kong looks like I'd be watching somebody play a video game. Could not get interested, but I've heard it's "fun."

They are connected, and Kong is kind of like a George Constanza character now.

The thing I don't get about Kong is that he lives on Skull Island, which is a lush place with other large animals. However, Skull Island is relatively small and given the size of Kong and other species we've seen, there's no way a land mass that size can support the vertebrates it hosts. That place would be denuded and barren given the caloric demands of those creatures. It would need to be continent size to come close.
