Must be frustrating as an assistant coach to pay your dues only to have some other guy get the nod even if they have zero past coaching experience. I don't listen to JJ's podcast, for those of you who do, does it appear like he would be a good head coach?

It's tough to say. We can't tell how he'll react to high-pressure situations. We don't know if he could relate to players or the media. And many of the Xs and Os he talks about are revisionist or straightforward. With that type of discussion, we can't tell if he could develop or select the correct systems for the roster he'll have. The Lakers are not the best team to start your coaching career with. He thinks LeBron is his friend... we'll see how friendly they are if and when they start losing or if they're winning, and Davis is the player they are following and running their team around.

    TLDR: Very unlikely.

all the Clippers need is a healthy Kawhi which is asking for a miracle atp, but still

Harden even at his age is good enough to get u 2 wins in a playoff series as we saw last year against Boston and this year against Dallas

Podcast P should be able to get u 1 win

and then Kawhi handles the rest and closes everything out

Clippers get a real PF and they’re competing at the top of the West given the current state of competition

They don’t think he is organized enough, or that type of leader. Sam does exceptionally well working one on one with players - but he doesn’t market himself and most his impact is one on one and as a mentor.

Does Sam deserve a shot? Yeah - if Rivers or Clifford can coach, so can Sam.

Mark Jackson was fired for far worse than that. He was a very bright coach but he had to be fired. Every team in the league would have fired him.

He is very bright - knows the game extremely well. I don’t know if he is a leader though, and he isn’t always a great role model.

Reminds me a lot of Steve Kerr. Sounds great, but I don’t think Kerr would have worked anywhere but GS. I also don’t think Kerr is a natural leader either.

Dan Hurley doesn't take any prisoners. I don't know if that approach can still work in the NBA. If it does, I think he would be a great hire.

IMO, he's almost too good to remain at the college level. On both ends of the floor, his teams play at a level of precision that you don't see at the college level.

At least he coached somewhere, where exactly did JJ Redick coach before? On his podcast....

This was crazy because the Nets got dragged through the mud for hiring Steve Nash despite the fact that he has been on the Warriors staff
