Bottom line is when you've got Singleton and Abreu in the lineup at the same time the offense is going to struggle. Caratini hit the ball hard last night and hit a big SF. Today he's nowhere to be seen and we get Abreu and Singleton. Plus he sat Bregs without Tucker being in the lineup??? This is an L nobody will recognize at the end of the year, but if they come up 1-2 games short of making the playoffs this is why they missed.
You didn't see Alex get hit on the hand last night? Espada wanted to start him but he had to be scratched. Caratini has been good but historical he is not the kind of player you put in a lineup to add offense. Without Tucker or Bregman, they needed to hold the Cardinals down to have a chance.
Thanks, didn't know that he got scratched, Caratini is probably one of the best 5-6 bats on the team right now. Is he great? Nope, but he's better than Singleton and Abreu for sure.
Not the World Series but go back another year and the Astros lost all 3 home games in the ALCS against Boston. 1-13 in home games in their final series played.
Continuing to have Abreu on the 26 man roster is an embarrassment. Hard to even care when they are putting his butt out there with season quickly coming to an early end.
How many times have we swept a team in a series this season? I can only think of the A's off the top of my head.
True on Bregman But Caratini is hitting right now Plus, if you are missing Tucker and Alex, putting both Abreu and Singleton in the lineup shouldn't even be an emergency option
