Even if his words were true, there is no reason for CJ to throw shade at Aaron Rodgers. He needs to chill and stop talking so much.
Yeah he's almost too visible now. People still start to get annoyed if they see the same person pop up over and over..doesn't matter who they are.
How old was C J when Aaron Rodgers played like Aaron Rodgers? I don't understand the love affair with Rodgers unless you're talking about the similarly named Aaron Rogers who had 2 dozen kids, a dozen with each of his two wives (one at a time). I'll be laughing when the Jets play worse with AR than they did last season without him.
Having fun in the offseason isn't a problem but putting yourself out there and having that unwanted attention put on yourself by your own actions I'd say its a bit too soon for that. I don't understand being on multiple podcasts and all that extra stuff. CJ is only about to start his second year I wish he would stay out of the spotlight a bit but I guess that success can get to your head hopefully he's not humbled this season and continues to ascend.
I worry less about him annoying fans or sportscasters than I do about him possibly pissing off defense and putting a target on his back. Defenses are coming after him regardless, but if some ******* decides to take a cheap shot helmet to helmet or something because he's tired of hearing CJ's chatter could be disastrous.
I’m never a fan of putting a target on your back or even the “look at me” type mentality. As long as he backs it up, it is what it is. I prefer someone that dominates in silence, but still has that confidence
A lot of what CJ said in regards to Rodgers was taken after he praised him. He acknowledged him as one of the best of his generation. I will say I don’t mind it(I’ll caveat by saying I think Aaron is good, but doesn’t belong in the GOAT conversation). I also appreciate his raw honesty, dudes are too fake(see Browns QB) about how much of a good person they are or trying not to hurt feelings. It’s football, and I’m glad the Texans have a QB who isn’t afraid to be himself and show off his confidence.
Counterpoint: f*** Aaron Rodgers. Who gives a crap? Not too worried about a 40-yr-old dude coming off a torn Achilles taking offense to what CJ said.
Never seen a Texans team with this much personality. Love it. Throw that PC crap out the window. Talk **** and back it up on the field.
Aaron Rodgers has nothing to do with it. CJ just talks too much for a guy who's played only one year in the NFL. Just MHO.
