my type as opposed to the "good type" I'm assuming. Your type of appeasement policy and Germany dumping billions into Russia is what made this happen.

See this is the parlor trick employed by high level brain geniuses like @Bandwagoner - they're THE REAL pacifists because they advocate for the corrupt fascists & dictators to rule every country - especially this one - with as little death & destruction - with the sublime brilliance of a hormonal 13 year old who claims to have solved the trolley problem

And now you are the one who is appeasing Russia.... Funny how my "appeasement" is when there isn't an actual war and yours isn't..........

lol. So if we don't force young folks in Ukraine to fight the Russians if they don't want to, then Putin is the new Hitler and we will be fighting them in Alaska after they have taken over Europe? Judoka, you are usually a bit more intelligent and nuanced in your contentment of the status quo.

Are you forgetting the violent coup of 2014 when with US encouragement they overthrew the democratically Ukrainian elected president because he was too Russian friendly in a country where about 1/2 the folks were ethnic Russian? BTW at the moment Zelensky's term in office is over and he has banned all elections.

All you're doing is exposing your absolutionist thinking.

Like it can't both be true that the Iraq War/War on Terror was a colossal waste of resources, lives, and geopolitical capital but standing up to increased Russian aggression that has culminated in an invasion of Ukraine is worthwhile?

So it’s appeasement to stand up tonRuasia but not appeasement to let Russia take over Ukraine?

The poster I was responding too was discussing the likelihood that people in Ukraine would probably end up being conscripted to fight for Russia.

Also given today is the anniversary of DDay should point out the problem with appeasement.

You mean violent coup of large people power protests that forced out a corrupt leader supported by a minority of the population?

Also it’s hard to run an election during wartime and if Putin ends his invasion it likely means the return of regular government.

Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia disagree.

They're pissing their pants every night at the thought of a Trump presidency.

David Sucks hasn't brought out anything sounding remotely reasonable or insightful. It's always a frame or narrative.

We need a strong Euro alliance if we want to hold against China/it's allies and not overextend ourselves. Sending billions by proxy while they're asking for it still upholds the principles we forged post-WW2 and made us admired (and feared) around the world.

It's pretty obvious by now that Ukraine does not have a viable path to winning this war. Each additional billion dollars the US send to buy bombs in Ukraine only serves to increase our budget deficit, increase inflation, and take away from improvement projects in our communities in the USA.

There is no point in paying for someone else's losing war halfway around the world. Pretty simple, really.

Just going to point out that this is one of the posters who supported continuing draining US resources in Iraq and Afghanistan and even criticized withdrawing from those countries.

Name a piece of legislation the GOP House has proposed that would use this money for improvement projects in our community. Also, this money isn't even a blip in the National deficit or inflation.

Why would I give two sh$ts about what a rich Trump donor thinks? Honestly... why the Fck should I care what some rich guy who gives millions of his dollars to Donald Trump in exchange for mega millions in tax cuts thinks?? Especially about a war in Europe started by a ruthless dictator who murders his rivals.

Yeah... let me sit here and allow myself to be gaslit by some douchebag rich guy who is trying to sell the country out just to buy himself another yacht.
