I'm anti war, as they are idiotic for regular people to be in favor of. Unwinnable ones even more so.

The comment was in response to Russia in parts of asia, not europe. Focus.

Are we now celebrating people afraid to defend their own country?

This is what you replied to neighboring countries. Maybe you need to pay attention. You spend so much energy being a contrarian you lose focus on what you are actually replying to. What I said applies to Russian aggression whether it is Europe or Asia. Your trolling on this subject matter; you are clearly inadequate to comprehend, is embarrassing. Either that or you are willfully intellectually dishonest. I don’t know what is worse.

I find it fascinating how some people are so flippant with human life, especially ones who can criticize safely behind their screens and never face the terror these people face.

I suspect you would not throw your life away for a war you didnt support. Conscription is evil.

I appreciate you making my point. Unless you think Vietnam was a moral war and the hundreds of thousands of deaths was worth losing a war.

Speaking how, how is Vietnam doing?

Dumb people love being lied to.

I say I'm anti war and you post casualties of war. Post Rafah next if you want me to agree with you again.

Unlike what has happened in the US, these men are merely asked to defend their country, not go fight wars elsewhere.

And I’ve yet to hear you or others criticizing Russian conscriptions. another poster even said it was better to die later as a Russian conscript than sooner as a Ukrainian.

I get it. You ultimately believe the life of a human belongs to the State. That is your prerogative. This is something that will never happen to you so you can't empathize with someone in this situation.

Further, US citizens are not forced into war. They are not kidnapped and dragged to the front line. If they really do not want to fight in a war, they have other options ... like facing incarceration.

The Vietnamese were fighting against who they considered a foreign invader. Why South Vietnam lost was because they didn’t have the support of most of the people.

Even so the North Vietnamese army still had conscriptions and forced people to fight. There are also plenty of reports of the Viet Cong forcing people in the South to fight for them.

We have had a draft several times in US history.

This would require me to believe Russia is fighting a just war and I have never once said Russia was justified in their actions. However as another poster pointed out, Russia is doing what Ukraine is doing currently and what the US did during Vietnam. That is to draft their most 'undesirable' people.

I understand this. Because the State has done it in the past doesn't make it morally ok. Are you suggesting slavery should be ok because it happened in the past?

So you consider prison an option? These people can leave the Ukraine. They could join Russian army as well, so we that is the outcome if they loose.

If I thought they belonged to the state is support them fighting outside their country, but I don't. I support defending your home on your own soil. I also support renouncing your citizenship and leaving the country if you aren't willing to defend it because you clearly don't consider it your home.

Do you get some perverse pleasure being a contrarian? Is that how you get off? It gets old. Have some actual conviction in life.
