I hear you, I really do, but man, if he develops a shot he might end up the best player in the draft.
I think amen is gonna end up on the wing. Best 123 team I’ve ever seen was Harper, Jordan, Pippen bulls…
Perhaps on paper... but you have to surround him with guys who can shoot, not lesser versions of him. Give me Amen, Cam, and Sheppard a year from now.
Love, love, love Cam. However, I fear his lack of feel might relegate him to a bench player deluxe. Indefinitely.
Are these Vega odds? If so, it's probably influenced by a lot of CFers betting on Rockets drafting Sheppard.
Amen shot 26% in OTE (from the NBA three point line, not the college one) I do think Castle's shooting projects to be better than Amen's mainly due to his superior FT% and better shot mechanics, but his statistical production as a shooter definitely isn't doing his draft stock any favors.
Neither can shoot but Amen is more athletic, a more talented creator, and a better defensive player. Also Amen isn't a diva demanding he start as a rookie at PG.
Castle being a diva comes from one rando tweet, so maybe not enough signal to noise for us to be sure.
Someone smarter than me will have to figure out if Castle's 3 point shot is fixable. Castle's shot looks fixable to me but ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Rockets did draft Amen last year, so they must have thought they could fix his 3 point shot, no? Amen's makes in 3 point shot in practice has issues but still show promise. I will remain hopefully. The league is turning into a 5 out league, where 3 and D with length is highly valued. Both Amen and Castle fit that mold. I will not be upset if the Rockets after they do their due diligence draft Castle, since I get the why.
It better not be Jalen AND #3 for Bridges!!! A #2 and #3 pick... Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
If the Rockets trade the #3 pick for Bridges, they are stupid and not serious about competing for a title. Mikal Bridges turns 28 years old in training camp. He only has one two years on his contract and wants a max contract. His contract will be coming up when the Rockets need to start paying people like Green, Sengun and then Jabari. Bridges is not a #1 option; he is not a franchise player or even an all-star. Further, he is not a shutdown defender - and wasn't even a good defender at times last year because of his scoring load. He leads the league in minutes the last three years, which means he has a lot of wear and tear. Do you really want to extend a 30-year-old player that has high mileage on him and isn't a star, to a max contract? If the Rockets trade the #3 for Bridges, that tells me that the Rockets are satisfied with just making the playoffs and not competing for a title.
