Vazquez didn't do badly either once he got playing time... very few players catch a World Series no hitter.
Lol at Vazquez. [gets traded to HOU] "Waaaa...if I can't be in Boston I don't want to be anywhere" [next offseason] "If I can't be in Boston I'd love to be anywhere that will pay me" I still have someday future hopes that Maldonado will be on the coaching staff in Houston.
Josh Hamilton comes to mind. Without the drug usage and the issues that came with that, he would have been a HOF without question. Such a natural talent.
What a great game last night. About a week of those type of games and we will be right back in it. Those are the type of games that build confidence both in the team and in the fan base. Let's hope the team wakes up and plays the rest of the year like they played the 8th and 9th inning of last nights game. Something about a nice come from behind win makes me smile. ETA: Happy to find out Tucker appears to have dodged a bullet literally on the foul ball he took off his shin.
Was funny last night. I had this constant feeling that the Astros were going to win, so I stayed up much later and drank much more than expected but the feeling was correct.
Because the Astros have idiots who listened to idiots on here telling them he should be the catcher every day to spite Dusty.
Dude.. stop inventing fantasies to justify your bias. Catchers playing everyday does not exist in today's game. Maldonado should've played 50 games last season, not 115. He damn sure shouldn't have started every playoff game. You should have posted that *before* the comeback. Hindsight posts are pathetic. Thanks for being a fan though.
No - Vazquez struggled with the bat in Houston, but he was and is a quality backstop. The problem is that he was told one thing by the front office - and it was another once he spoke to the manager and some of the pitchers made it clear that the leadership and control of the staff was not going to Vazquez and he wasn't even involved in a 50/50 situation.
Nice comeback win last night. Showed a lot of testicular fortitude. Seems like other teams have had a bunch of those against us this season.
If .250 is considered struggling with the bat, that is something I gladly will accept today considering how the bottom of the lineup has been doing...
