I sure as hell don't approve of or want sharia law in this country. I do agree with you there. I'd honestly add all terrorist or hate groups to the list of people I'd like deported out of our country. I think all hate/extremists groups, and gangs should be deemed illegal in our country, and all members subject to being arrested. Too bad we can't just ship them all off to an island far far away. Freedom of speech is fine, but when the groups participate in violence, drug trafficking, terrorism or death threats, and assaults, it's not fine. Weed out all the bad guys, and we can all live safer.

I see people still keep on raising the specter of Sharia law. Again there is no serious attempts to implement Sharia law in the US and I doubt it in the UK.

In fact many Islamic countries they don’t even have Sharia law.

define "serious attempt." if I'm not mistaken, there are sharia courts in Michigan and elsewhere in the US.

To my knowledge there are bo sharia courts in Minnesota. Don’t know anything about them in MI and if they are they don’t have force of law. Even though my US Rep and city councilor are Muslims none of them have even suggested a bill to implement Sharia law.

Im sure you can find on social media someone saying we should have Sharia law just like a lot of stuff on social media. A serious attempt though would be at least trying to get a bill
Introduced in city council or state legislature.

As @rocketsjudoka says, I doubt this is true and it certainly wouldn't supercede criminal or civil courts.

Perhaps it's a mosque council being misconstrued as having legal authority? Like a church or parish council that's self-governing over a congregation?

My guess is it’s a clerical court that handles disputes within a Muslim community. There are similar things in other religious communities.

As you correctly note such a “court” would have no legal standing.

Should have closed it before your parents came over illegally and had their anchor baby.

    Just remembered hearing about Rabbincal
Courts in the US. They handle disputes regarding Jewish law for things like marriages and conversions.

Don’t know if they have any legal standing and certainly have no standing on non Jews.

Yes I just noticed that he wrote “no way to filter out the good ones from the bad ones” yet also said he was for legal immigration.

Will say again as someone who is an anchor baby too since my parents didn’t have permanent residence when I was born I have no problem with his status and recognize his right to this country as much as mine. Further even though my family was here legally and was invited by Rice university to come I don’t resent his family crossing the border illegally.

I believe his family like mine and the vast VAST MAJORITY of those crossing the border now came here to build a better life for themselves and their children.

It’s not happening. Your link in the other thread wasn’t remotely aboit Sharia law and was a Muslim doing something you advocate.

Stopping the teaching of LGBT topics in public school.

BTW, the Afghan Islamist murderer had come to Germany in 2014, his request for asylum was denied, he illegally stayed anyway, somehow fathered a child and was then allowed to stay.

They probably still have them but haven't tried to impose them.

In the whole time I've been here I've never heard of a Somali try to shut down the pizza place across the street from Ilhan Omar's campaign office for serving Pepperoni pizza.

As noted this doesn’t have the force of law and groups like the ACLU are already preparing court challenges.
