Just C J whipping out Miracles in the old Miracle Whip vs Mayo argument. I see the connection, but perhaps others don't.
Just as cars changed from attempts to minimize damage to the car with 5 MPH and 15 Mph bumpers in the 70s to protect the cars to designed crumple zones to protect the passengers, the same should be done with sports equipment. Focus on protecting the players, even if it's from themselves, by limiting the usefulness of the helmet as a weapon with the soft shell. I'm all for it.
For QBs in particular, when you have the issue of their heads being slammed to the ground, padding should help. For the bigger overall problem of helmet to helmet contact, the primary issue for safety, IMO, is making the helmet less of a damaging weapon instead of making it more protective. I've said for many years what they really need to do is heavily pad the crown of every helmet because that's what causes the vast majority of the damage in collisions.
Just an aside. As film study video keeps mentioning CJ's quick release, I am reminded I first heard the term with discussions of the kid Willie Joe Namath from Alabama.
Lol he named himself as the third best qb from last season. He's not wrong. And he has always been that way which is why it rubbed 'unknown scouts' the wrong way at the combine.
“Gillie da King & Wallo” https://www.youtube.com/@MWORTHOFGAME/videos Haven’t found the video yet though
CJ was just judging them on their most recent season. Just based off last year, they both had pretty damn good regular seasons. Wasn't Dak #2 in MVP voting? Eagles went 10-1 and then Hurts got hurt and their season fell off.
Gillie is into football? lol. I remember the days he would put out 30 minute monologues from the streets about rap beefs and who he thought was talking too much.
