Will it be another Jan 6th and then all aboard Trump 2028? Would the cult ever follow anyone who’s not Trump moving forward?

interested in seeing what people think will genuinely happen

Absolutely nothing. Ride or die with Trump.

That’s the beauty of the Rs.

Unless you're Ashli Babbitt. Then it's ride AND die.

I’m absolutely sure there will be an attempt to have another Jan.6. Security though around the Capitol will be much stronger than it was in 2021.

I though there might be a reckoning in the GOP after 2020 but it doesn’t appear like anything will shake Trump’s hold on the party.

Reject MAGAism and return to real conservatism, tradition, morality, decency, respect, and lawfulness.

    ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

When Trump wins, liberals will say "But but but Biden won the popular vote. EC is outdated and unfair".

I’d like to think the party implodes, but they’ll likely start propping Tucker up for 2028.

I think the Dems are almost to a boiling point. If they lose in November, watch out. The right didn't burn down any cities after the orange verdict so maybe there is some realization how bad Jan 6 was.

It’s hard to get someone out of a cult. You have a better chance of plucking a random practicing Islamic citizen from one of the Middle Eastern countries and converting him to Christianity than trying to get a MAGA to understand they’ve been duped.

    This is probably true.

I don't identify with either party, but let's be honest - that's a better and more logical (sane) argument than the election was rigged or stolen or whatever.

No matter who wins, it's an outdated and flawed system. Except for a few toss-up states, the majority of states are irrelevant in presidential elections, greatly skewing the political process.

History and basic reasoning suggest that those who allege election rigging, refuse to accept the outcome, and resort to violence are the ones most likely to repeat such actions, potentially on a larger scale. Alternatively, we can choose to ignore this and imagine other possibilities.

I think Trump will be done if he loses in November. There might be protest, but Trump isn't in any position to attempt another coup which leveraged in part the powers of the presidency and vice-preisdency. And after that, he's going to be buried in criminal trials and may well be in prison in 2028, if he hasn't already died of something. The US will be forced to go with a younger president in 2028 regardless of who wins in 2024.

It is outdated and unfair regardless of what happens. I'm not sure how you can argue that the next four years of the country deserve to be decided by a few thousand people in Wisconsin, Arizona and Michigan instead of tens of millions of people all over the country.

I agree with y'all. Having random geographic acreage matter more than millions of actual people is really, really tough to defend from any logical (and post-feudal) point of view. LOL.

What you are basically saying is the the creators of this country were too simple minded and didn't understand governance. They fully understood the impact of condensed populated areas deciding for everyone else.

This is the typical partisan mindset - If something isn't working perfect for you, then go the complete opposite extreme and then wonder why there is so much division.

The correct answer is to leave the EC alone and force states to split their EC's.
