for sure there are gonna be allstar players in this draft. Agreed we should keep the pick barring a star offer. I am someone that really values shooting, and the rockets need that badly. But I’m a BPA guy, and i don’t think shooting should be a litmus test for who we draft. There are other ways to add shooting. Our front office just needs to actually do that.

I was watching videos of Castle last night, and he might be the best defender and best BballIQ in this draft. He’s special defensively; no exaggeration. His wing span, positional versatility, facilitation and handle, the unselfishness, he’s always moving and cutting, ability to score at the rim….there’s a lot to like there. The decent FT shooting gives me hope his shot will come around. The idea of Amen, Tari and Castle long term can be one of the scariest defensive lineups in the history of the league. I could get excited about Castle.

Y’all confuse me… we should trade the pick bc the draft is so weak, but who’s gonna trade something valuable in a weak draft? This draft is so weak and there aren’t any stars, but drafting Sheppard is dumb bc he’s not gonna be a star. Let’s draft castle instead, even though we have Jalen, Cam, and Amen who all have similar skill sets. We need shooting but let’s draft a non shooter at 3. This is a role player draft, let’s trade the pick and other assets for a role player in Mikal Bridges. Y’all don’t make any sense lol

We're better to trade it it all to get a star.

What if this is all reverse psychology?

Could we use the general sentiment that this is supposedly a "weak draft" to possibly trade someone expendable, or a future draft pick, to pick up a second relatively high draft pick?

After looking more at Zach Edey, I have to say my dream outcome from this draft would be to pick up Sheppard and Edey.

My nightmare outcome from this draft would be the Spurs coming away with Sheppard and Edey.

I see the IQ and unselfishness with Castle. He has great body control/positioning for his age. But, I wonder if he's playing that way because it's smart or because he has to cause he doesn't have the combination of ball handling and quickness to get by his man consistently.

I see him as more of a less athletic Andre Iguodala than a full time PG.

And the lack of shooting of those three is also scary.

Well on his way to catching Hakeem’s all time record.

I feel like he will continue to improve for another 5 years. He was extremely behind when it comes to fundamentals of winning basketball. Two years under Silas barely helped. Back on track now and I expect him to be a scoring machine from next season onwards.

His weakness is someone like him usually isn't the 3rd best pick available, he should be like the 7th best in a normal draft...

The Rockets need a good volume 3 pt shooter but Sheppard only attempted a 3-4 Attempt per game in a more relaxed College setting.

Lol, too many words for you? You're really leaning into the whole "comprehension of a 12 year old" shtick.

Okay kid, you've had more than enough attention, it's clear you lack the cognitive ability to hold a discussion so run along, grown folks are talking.

I hope you're right, but I don't know what Jalen has ever done to earn this level of confidence in his offensive production, honestly. His hot streak in March barely got his numbers back up around his career averages. I want to see some actual sustained improvement from him before I actually start to have faith in him as a prospect again--treading water isn't good enough.
