I posted Phillips statement in the hush money thread and it’s hardly a statement in defense of Trump. Nor does it counter that Trump is guilty. Many legal scholars consider accepting a pardon as an acknowledgment of guilt.

 

his guilt is beside the question. the issue is, do you want to see Donald Trump reelected? if not, the best way to prevent that is to deny him publicity. publicity, good or bad, is like oxygen to Trump. if everyone, Democrats and Republicans both, had simply ignored Trump in 2016 we would not be here today.

I'm sure, Bragg, Biden, and the rest of the Democratic Party are feeling comfortably smug at the moment. but they've handed Trump a gift more precious than air, and I fear they will live to rue this trial.
