This is a reminder that this wasn't a bench trial but a jury trial. Jurist #2 got his news exclusively from truth social and Twitter and he voted guilty.
So much for losing those voting right privledges. What exactly did this accomplish, other than forever screaming he is a convicted felon.
Salvy the legal scholar and reader of “mainstream news”. Please explain just one thing that the judge did that was unfair. Do you mean how the judge did not sentence Trump to jail for contempt of court despite 10 violations of the gag order? Did Donald convince you that the judge didn’t let Trump testify (hint, that’s a lie) Do you mean that the gag order was unconstitutional (it was not and is common place)? Did Donald convince you that he couldn’t say anything about the trial or campaign because of the gag order (hint that’s also a lie, gag order said Trump could not attack the witnesses or jury, but he could say whatever else he wanted). So please, pray tell, oh brilliant Salvy, what did the judge do to poor Trump that was “unfair”. I bet a whole lotta money you can’t identify a single valid point.
Everyone guilty claims innocence Trump is just following the same pattern as every other criminal. DD
Remember when DeSantis (erroneously) made a huge public display of having African Americans apprehended televised for voting while they were felons? Now they are going out of their way to make sure everyone is aware Trump can vote even though is a felon. Why would Florida want to spread the (erroneous) message that Floridians that were black couldn't vote. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/09/04/desantis-election-police-voter-arrests/
I'm saying it was a fair trial. Which bench rulings do you claim were unfair? The jury was selected by both legal teams, one of which was Trump's.
A fair trial would NOT be a 95 percent likely Joe Biden voting 12 person collective as we all know is pretty much the case …a fair trial would have Change of Venue..... the substitution of another place of trial, as when the local jury or court is likely to be prejudiced. let’s be honest, you put Biden on trial with a 12 person collective of jurors with 95 percent republican voting tendency down South and we know Joe is cooked,…this was a clever political orchestrated state trial but Trump fell in it with getting involved with a nasty p*rn person and everything involved…Which was another reason I preferred DeSantis, …you have to understand law and what your political adversaries will do against you and be politically savvy in the game of politics
the useless mindless drones on here were posting this barely a week ago “NY is Trump country!” the dear leader even said he’ll win NY now the MAGATs are saying there’s no way he could’ve ever gotten a fair trial Which one is it?
Democrats didn't choose the venue where it was tried. Biden didn't choose the venue. Biden's DOJ didn't chose the venue. The venue is the place where the crime was committed. That is how the system works and has worked. It wasn't changed because Trump was the defendant. The idea that somehow trials in one city aren't fair but trials in the rest of country are fair is complete horse ****. New York City is every bit a part of the United States and American as Ohio, Texas, Montana or South Dakota. The jurors were chosen by Trump's defense team and the Prosecution as well. Both sides chose the jurors. The jurors who were ordinary citizens saw the evidence and examination of the evidence from the Prosecution and Trump's team as well. They unanimously decided that beyond a reasonable doubt, Trump was guilty on all 34 counts. I'm sorry you don't like the jury, but it was as fair as any trial.
(a) Grounds for Change. The court may change venue of a criminal case on the defendant’s motion or on its own initiative with the defendant’s consent. The court should order a venue change when a fair trial is unlikely because of undue excitement against the defendant in the county where the offense was committed or for any other cause. would you be as confident in the jurors decision if they were from a 95 percent tendency to vote Republican? … Let’s get real it’s all about who you put on the juror,..we all have a political bias. Fair would be as close to a 50/50 voting tendency …considering the sensationalism of the trial and how many states explain the reasoning for change of venue, I feel it would have been wholly appropriate in this case as there has ever been a reason for “change of venue”
12 jurors, 5 had voted for Trump. It was a fair trial, b****ing about anything else is pure bullshit. DD
There was no way to verify who voted for who,..don’t be silly but we do know the jury was comprised of a district that voted at a 95 percent criteria for Biden. Would you be this confident in a fair trial if it was in a district with 95% the other way? Probably not .
It's a fair question. As to the change of venue, the whole nation is full of excitement against the defendent. But as far as trusting a different jury, I would to the extent that I would accept the verdict. I had my doubts what this jury would do. I did beleive they would judge the evidence aside from any political bias. I would trust the system as the best we have, even in a deep red state. It's important to understand Trump's team also felt this jury could do that or they wouldn't have chosen these jurors. I certainly doubt all 12 would be so biased that couldn't examine the evidence fairly.
