Astros fans are typically polite (unless you were D Strawberry back in the day) but if strikes out his first 2 times or makes an error, your going to hear the boo birds come out
You're going to have to have to wait until at least tomorrow night. Jabreu is not in tonight's starting lineup.
The lineup card has been moved to area 52 for further investigation as an alien artifact on account that no human could reasonably have been assumed to have put it together.
Pena slumping hard right now, getting a day off and Abreu not playing, no complaints there. Don't get moving Bregman back into cleanup, but whatever.
If it’s working on a mental level, so be it. But the Astros have not been getting production out of the 4 spot with his replacements. not sure what the analytical tool to measure mental yips is but maybe some smart organization has figured it out. Peña and Altuve need more days off. Or would have Altuve DH at least once a week and have Dubon play 2B.
This was the series to bring back Abreu. He plays well against the Twins. We probably would have split in Seattle if they would have waited.
Didn’t he drive in one of the 2 runs they scored in game 1? And they won yesterday? I’m all for piling on a player that doesn’t deserve to be there (I’ve been on that train since April)… but between everybody blaming Bagwell for everything, people thinking batting lineup places are like magic feathers, and now saying Abreu single-handedly lost games… this forum is badly in need of a hyperbole re-set.
This is a sports forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would bet 99% of the people that post here are staunch Astro fans. There are a few trolls but most of us love our team and want them to succeed. What we don't like is when decisions by management are made that affect the chemistry and performance of the team. This is basically the same team we had last year. There are a variety of reasons that we have underperformed so far this year. In regards to Jabreu he did drive in one of the runs in our first loss at Seattle and we won the last game despite him being in the line up. He has looked terrible in the field since he has been back. Overall I see little to no improvement from him at the plate. His failure to make plays and overall distraction probably cost us at least one of the games in Seattle. That is just my opinion. The reality is that the team was kind of finding a rhythm and a balance and coming together before it was announced that Jbreu was being forced back onto the team. I would love for him get to the point where he helps the team but for now I am in the camp that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Witnessing a rookie succeeding then being demoted for ego reasons must affect the clubhouse. It's more demoralizing than seeing the trade deadline come and go with no upgrades.
