New York law does not specify if someone waiting to be sentenced or having been sentenced but not serving time waiting on an appeal can vote. It only addresses people who have completed their actual prison sentence.
The trial showed that our nation still works at some level. It shows our nation's justice system, at least sometimes, can hold everyone accountable even if they were once the most powerful leader in the world and is nominated for that position again. Even he can be held accountable under the rule of law. Equal justice under the law. All people were equal, career prosecutors, career defense attorneys, and a jury of ordinary citizens. They looked at the evidence and discussion of evidence and unanimously agreed he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on 34 counts. That says something and means something. Also 34 is the number of Hakeem the Dream, Earl Campbell, and Nolan Ryan. It's an important number.
The closest I can think of would be a player betting on games but wants to keep it secret so has someone else pay off gambling debts and then repays that person. When it comes out he claims that the money paid to the guy who paid off the debts had nothing to do with gambling.
