Probably, but do you think it will matter? He MIGHT lose some black votes, maybe.

The speaker of the house is responsible for capital security. I don't care what Trump said.

Nope I don't trust the government when they say guns were present. Particularly after the COVID lie the government fed us and the sham trial that's currently going on

There were criminal convictions in courts of law. I get it that MAGA hates how our country works. They hate the justice system, they hate counting the votes, but criminal trials with an impartial jury and evidence is the best we have to go on for this. It is superior to any other way we have of judging what happened. There have been multiple convictions on gun charges. At least one of the family members testified against the gun defendant. The evidence isn't just from the government. In a court trial the defense gets to present evidence, as does the prosecution. A jury decides if there is enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Evidence has been entered and these people have been convicted.

The federal government is not in charge of the trial currently going on. They aren't a a part of the trial going on. I'm sorry that you hate so much about this country. But the evidence is still there and is part of the court system.

If you won't trust evidence that has undergone the scrutiny of the defendants lawyers, the judges, the police, the jury, and been tried in a court of law, then please stop asking people to provide anything, because you simply won't believe it, if doesn't back your wishes for what you hoped were facts. Evidence from a court trial isn't from any biased media, twitter account, or any political organization.

I don't trust liberal judges and juries in places like Washington D.C., New York. I'm just glad I didn't go to Washington D.C. that day.

Pretty much, but I don't trust Trump either. He screwed up the pandemic. He should have kept the economy open. There would probably have been more deaths , but the country as a whole would have been better off.

Are you saying Fauci isn't a treasonous liar that should be hung on the nearest tree. His GOF research killed millions.

You guys are going realize at some point that @raining threes like most MAGA are too deep to snap out of it. Their brains are fried and been reprogrammed to only believe MAGA talking points. Nothing matters to these people only what their cult daddy tells them. They only bow in front of their savior lord trump.

I'm just happy the entire world is seeing first hand just how utterly braindead America has become. The whole beacon of democracy or whatever is all garbage

You are wrong, it's the Sargeant in Arms of the House and Senate who testified he didn't see the need for it, I bet if he knew what trump and conspirators were going to say that might have been different....................gee, but you gloss over the fact that trump could have, oh, not told the crowd to go fight or that he could have called off the clown show hours before he did but refused to...........maga talking points, blame someone else for what you did.

Trump urged his supporters to ‘fight much harder’ against ‘bad people’ and ‘show strength’ at the Capitol.

“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules. So I hope Mike has the courage to do what he has to do, and I hope he doesn’t listen to the RINOs and the stupid people that he’s listening to.”

Mr. Trump twice told the crowd that Republicans who did not go along with his effort to overturn the election — Mr. Pence as well as senators like Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, who did not join in the performative objections led by Mr. Hawley and Mr. Cruz — were actually the ones being courageous. In context, the president’s implication is that they were putting themselves at risk because it would be safer to go along with what he wanted. During the ensuing riot, the mob chanted “Hang Mike Pence.”

Trump suggested that he wanted his supporters to stop the certification of Biden’s electoral win, not just protest it.
“We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved. Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore, and that is what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the steal. …

“You will have an illegitimate president. That is what you will have, and we can’t let that happen. These are the facts that you won’t hear from the fake news media

As he dispatched his supporters into what became deadly chaos, Trump falsely told them that he would come, too.
Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. … We are going to the Capitol, and we are going to try and give — the Democrats are hopeless,

I've made this point to him 10 times already but it's a waste of time buddy. Theres no getting through to these people. They're in too deep. I just don't understand how none of you lose hope and respect for America as a whole when you see these folks.

disinformation will be the downfall of America and China is just laughing their ass off

I hear you and largely agree. But one has to have hope, period. Optimism can be poisonous, IMHO, but without Hope, sheesh, that's no way to live.

I have no expectation of changing his mind nor am I really debating him.

I agree that I worry a lot about where this country is but I don’t believe this country is MAGA. The last few elections show that.

I worry a lot about misinformation but I also worry about apathy and cynicism as also leading to our downfall.

The cynisism stems from disinformation. It's all interconnected which is what I've been saying on these forums for years while you folks mocked me. Disinformation + conspiracies is why america is at the place its at.

America is barreling towards facism and theres no coming back. America is in a very very dark place and it's only going to get worst. You can keep hiding behind the curtains or face the reality

Disinformation is one contributor to cynicism but so is throwing your hands up and saying you're just going to leave the country.

I've brought this up before but there are many here who have taken up "principled cynicism" that is the view that well they can't do anything so they're just not going to even do the bare minimum of being an engaged citizen (voting). Yes change is slow and difficult with a lot of fits and starts but just in the last few years we've seen a lot of things change.

It makes about as much sense as a convicted pedophile getting a childcare license.

It's interesting how being President of the United States has less ethical requirements than most jobs.
