I can’t stress this enough how much the rockets need Clingan. The rockets should trade Sengun and have Jabari the starter on PF (optional)- trade another person with sengun on the rockets to fill in for anything the roster is needing/missing. For the rockets to have success we need a center that is amazing at defending and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to contribute on the floor. If the rockets are wanting to have ANY success going up against Victor or Chet SENGUN and JABARI won’t do very well doing that job they are amazing defenders but just isn’t tall enough too guard these ridiculous players
You know, you can just draft Clingan AND keep Sengun and mix and match Sengun, Clingan and Smith in different scenarios.
To support OP's arguement.....of the teams that were/are in the conference finals, who are their main players? Boston, Brown and Tatum, Indy, Haliburton and Siakim, Minn, Edwards and KAT, Dallas, Lucka and Kyrie. No one is playing through their centers. Sure, every year its different. Last year Denver played through Jokic but that's because he is a good 3pt shooter, that can pass and get his own shot at anytime, a rarity. He's basically a center with guard skills, same for Embiid. So I think alluding to OP, the center position needs to be a piece, not the cornerstone.
Rockets deserve all the negative karma in the world if they select some dime a dozen big man that can’t even hit free throws with the 3rd overall pick so much low effort trolling these days
