Houston legend Slater Martin and Pep Saul on the early '50s Minneapolis Lakers - fundamentally very sound.

Is that Jason Priestley and Cress Williams from 90210?

Actually, Maloney looks like Aiden Quinn.

    Talented offensively?

They certainly are not that talented defensively. Kyrie doesn’t defend and Luka idea of defense is complaining.

The game is played on both ends of the court and talent extends to both ends as well.

Frazier and Monroe is clearly better.

    So is Dumars and Thomas.

    So is Harden and Paul.

    So is Curry and Thompson.

    So is West and Goodrich.

Last but not least - Michael Jordan and anyone else… my favorite was Jordan and Harper.

The Mavs backcourt plays one side of the court.

It’s hard to measure “talent” and debate who is more talented. If we think of talent as abilities a player had from a very young age, as opposed to being developed over time through training and experience, then I’d put their talent ahead of pretty much any other backcourt historically, including the ones you mentioned. That’s not to say they are the greatest or most effective backcourt ever.

    If we had a 2 x 2 tournament
Does Luka and Kyrie win it all ?
    I'm not sure about that
    Magic and Cooper/Scott?
    MJ and Harper?
    Clyde and Porter?

While you can Argue that Luka and Kyrie could score at will
    against Francis and Cuttino . . ..
Could Luka stay in front of either of them? In a 2x2 the score would be like 100 to 100 if it was win by 2

You can't mention Harden and defense but I like the rest of your list.

The Lakers' starting five averaged 98.4 points per game during that 1971-72 season, thanks to the one-two punch of West and Goodrich. The two combined for 51.7 points per game, the most ever by a backcourt tandem. The split was essentially democratic – 25.9 points per game for Goodrich and 25.8 for West. They also won 33 games in a row!

They are incredibly talented. Not thinking of championships or whatever, they are right up there with anyone. It ain't right to give them the top spot without a championship.
