    I.hate.Dook.players.
That being said I liked Shane & his intangibles.
    But I don't think anybody called him a star... I know I didn't. I don't think he was every considered a top 2 player on a team.
Also, I would take a Battier type over an Artest type, but that's just me.
Much love for Metta, but that man was off the rails...

Props to Michael Scotto for the huge if true update.

This reporting squares with my sources - who are saying the Rockets are willing to take a "big swing" - IF the price is right

    DEVELOPING...

I don’t believe he’s available. (And I don’t want him) Still waiting on the animal to post a link where he said he saw it.

You are ready to write an article about this developing situation for any NBA reporting site.

That kittykat in Minnesota :D That 7’ guy who likes to camp out at the 3pt line and shoot threes.

I don’t know if he’s available or will become available but he’s on the books for $49 million next year (then 53/57/61 million) and that whole team is getting expensive and and Gobert is due an extension (at least eligible) and the whole ownership situation with Glen Taylor and Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez/Lore were reportedly gonna slash payroll if they took control and Glen Taylor, who knows…doesn’t seem like the guy to pay out, to keep the talent together.

I'm hearing Anfernee Edwards is on the outs unless Minneapolis Wolfpack dig their way out of a deep hole

Look for the Houston Rockets to shoot their shot - if true.

I mean, it's the GM job to perform due diligence. Just feels more like due diligence than a pointed effort.

Not super jazzed about a Mitchell or Bridges trade if I'm being honest.

Such a nothing story. The same thing was reported last year, and the Rockets kept the pick in a much more talented draft class. If the market for the No. 4 pick last year wasn't worth moving it, why would the market for the No. 3 pick in a stronger draft class net a different result? I just don't see it happening. The Mitchell interest feels pretty one-sided from the Rockets, and I don't see anyone willing to part with a "star" to draft Topic, Sheppard, Clingan, etc. Maybe Brooklyn finally bites on Bridges, but I have to think their asking price on him is still probably too high.

Gun to my head, the Rockets are picking a player and keeping him at No. 3 on draft night. If there's a market for that pick, it's not going to be a very good one.

When you already have a solid group. One, that if not for injuries, would've gone to the playoffs this year. Why give up any assets. Especially not a core player, the 3rd pick or future picks for a guy that'll take up a huge chunk of the teams salary cap.

They're are several prospects available at 3 that can immediately contribute to this already strong group AND will be locked into a rookie scale contract for 4 years.

Give the group another year with Ime and see what they're capable of.

Purely as a lover of the game, NONE of those guys would get me amped up if we acquired them, especially given some of the trade packages I've seen thrown around.

Make the pick and keep building from our core.

I believe Sheppard gives us some of missing ingredients this team needs. With the big Kiwi coming off the bench and Tari back in form that's a level up there. Add that I expect 1-2 of our young guys to make a leap like Alp did last year and we'll be on track to building something special.

I'm struggling to see the downside? I suppose it depends on the trade. Green and #3 for Mitchell puts us in the playoffs. And opens pathways for our young guys too.

Brooks and #3 for Bridges is amazing for us and them. ((Assuming there is someone they want at #3))

Such breaking news. The Rockets are willing to trade the pick. You mean they're willing to do the thing they said they'd be willing to do 2 weeks ago? Only thing we need is for someone to say the situation is ... what's the word? Oh yeah... FLUID.

Ahead of the draft, no at least one iota of draft fun?

I guess it depends on your opinion o players like Green. I'm assuming you and I have very different view points. I see the downside the same way the Thunder saw the downside of trading Harden or Clippers saw the downside of trading SGA for a aging star.

When you ask "where is the downside" are you seriously not considering that people have different evaluations of Green or the third pick?

If I'm giving up Five firsts, as the arrticle suggests, that player needs to be Top 20(-ish) and under 30. That basically leaves the following players:
    Jokic
    Luka
    Giannis
    Shai
    Brunson
    Embiid
    Haliburton
    Tatum
    Mitchell
    Victor
    Ant Edwards
    Booker
    De'Aaron Fox
    Sabonis

The only one of those players that's even been mentioned as a trade possibility is Mitchell. Maybe the Rockets make an offer the Cavs can't refuse, but I am expecting him to re-sign in Cleveland. I think any trades we make will be to upgrade/bolster specific positions rather than going all-in on some available star player.

    "There's no one worth drafting"

"Trade the pick for a star"

These two statements don't really follow logically.

Either the 3rd pick is worthless or it's so good teams would be willing to trade star players for it... but it can't be both.
