Can't wait for the Espada/Brown era to end after this season. Sorry Joey Loperfido. Any other organization you would have never been sent back down to the minors.
Oh, it's always his choice even if he's made the decision to let others manipulate his decisions. No one else can set the lineups.
Career splits against Miller: LHB - .258/.319/.507 (.826) RHB - .206/.240/.321 (.561) Diaz has been struggling enough as it is lately and needs a day off. We got to Miller the last game by hitting 2 HRs against him...from Tucker and Singleton. That's how teams get to him...he gives up a lot of extra base hits to lefties. You guys complain about some of the weirdest stuff. Want to complain about Abreu back in the lineup? Totally understand. Want to complain about using Hader in a 4 run game against the As lowly lineup yesterday? Totally understand, I was already complaining in the 8th before he even made the move or saw Hader warming up because I had a feeling he would be that dumb.
Context matters. Considering that Framber threw an in-game tantrum because of the catcher situations in his last start just enables him.
I hear ya. This one thing isn’t about stats. What happened last week was unprofessional and unacceptable. I think you have to get Framber and Diaz on the same page right away after last week.
Ideally, if Espada had half a brain or any managerial skills, he would have sat down with both of them immediately after the game last week and had a discussion to where this is a non issue moving forward. If you have to start Diaz tonight, despite the splits heavily favoring Caratini, because we need to make sure Framber doesn't do it again or feel he's getting his way, then there's no leadership and that's a major problem. This team needs all the help it can get tonight offensively, especially after bringing back Abreu.
Not sure it’s a really big upgrade to put caratini in there instead of Diaz for one game against a lefty or righty. Caratini is a weak hitter and batting 9th. He will probably face him twice. Even if Espada sat them down, I still think he should have followed through with having them go back out there right away to squelch any possible issues. It’s a no brainer to me. and the splits do not heavily favor caratini
IF there is any validity to this thought We need to trade Framber. I've been 100% against all the mentions of trading him or any of our other starting pitchers in all the trade proposal threads But if there are ANY issues developing between Framber and Diaz, move him for a pitcher that wants to be on a team with a record ALCS streak going
Who would you target? Honestly would be easier to move Diaz for said pitching, albeit they'd be selling very low on him.
THIS Last year was sabotaged by the whole "Maldy has to catch Framber every time and JV also" even as Framber struggled badly and Maldy wouldn't even go talk to him. You can't let crap like that take over But, Dusty's right hand man is now in charge so not sure why we would expect something different
Would be a great time for Crush City to show up. That's definitely a playoff caliber starting foursome.
I don't think so BUT If we do, Seattle would be making a major statement about the division And that might, just might, be the end of Espada. I know some would say Crane has never made a change like that mid season, but he has also never been in this situation at this point of a season
