Actually Federalist Paper 29 says this
"It requires no skill in the science of war to discern that uniformity in the organization and discipline of the militia would be attended with the most beneficial effects, whenever they were called into service for the public defense. It would enable them to discharge the duties of the camp and of the field with mutual intelligence and concert an advantage of peculiar moment in the operations of an army; and it would fit them much sooner to acquire the degree of proficiency in military functions which would be essential to their usefulness. This desirable uniformity can only be accomplished by confiding the regulation of the militia to the direction of the national authority. It is, therefore, with the most evident propriety, that the plan of the convention proposes to empower the Union "to provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, RESERVING TO THE STATES RESPECTIVELY THE APPOINTMENT OF THE OFFICERS, AND THE AUTHORITY OF TRAINING THE MILITIA ACCORDING TO THE DISCIPLINE PRESCRIBED BY CONGRESS.''

It says that the militia, as stated in the 2nd Amendment, is an organized and disciplined force under the direction of national authority. It's less a check on the government but for the common defense of the government at a time when there wasn't a standing army. In actual practice this was the case when Washington called out the militia to crush a citizen uprising in the Whiskey Rebellion.

These people have no idea what the milita part of the 2nd Amendment means. The Founding Fathers did not want the United States to have a standing military. Therefore, the militia would fulfill that role when called upon.

A lot of problems can be solved if people stop blocking traffic and creating a hostile and intimidating evironment where someone cannot escape or evade - Stop oil, or promote whatever but do it on the sidewalk so normal citizens who are just trying to earn a living in a horrible inflation era or trying to pick up their child from daycare, or whatever normal people should be free to do WITHOUT being held up and detained by idiots

He could have been protesting Red Lobster and still be shot if he stopped someone in traffic like that

the dude is dead so he can’t hear the opinions of people on a basketball forum who felt he was in the right for messing with a man in his car

You can’t even do that in grand theft auto 5

It’s really easy for someone with a gun in a car to shoot someone who is standing still right in front of his car

    This is Darwinism

if this was in the Wild West , would you stop Billy the kid on his horse?
Or even a Native American on his horse ?
You’d be target practice like on red dead redemption

the only violent murderous thug was daniel perry. he was rightly convicted of murder and the governor pardoned him because tucker carlson told him to do so. thats it.

youre lying about the facts of the case.

you like that someone who you agree with politically was able to murder someone whose politics you dont like...just admit it.

perry talked about how he wanted to go to a BLM protest and kill someone. he intentionally drove into a crowd crossing a street. he murdered someone who he admitted WAS NOT POINTING A GUN AT HIM. he got convicted by a jury of his peers...a jury that perrys own defense attorney agreed to. tucker carlson told abbott to pardon perry and abbott pardoned him.

even taking perry at his word (or rather his word after his initial story changed) he claimed that foster was pointing a weapon at him. so we are supposed to believe that he sees a rifle being pointed at him and has time to grab his gun from wherever he had it, point and shoot and the guy who was pointing a rifle at him. seems pretty obvious that he already had his gun in hand when he drove into the crowd. there is no other way he could have reacted so quickly.

oh yeah, and perry made a bunch of racist statements, was sexting with a girl he knew to be underage, had a DWI and also admitted to possibly killing a pedestrian with his car in a previous incident.

This is the exact world that open carry proponents have knowingly and purposefully created. You among them. Acting like you're suddenly OK with killing anyone who approaches you carrying a weapon is dishonest nonsense.

This was not such a situation. This individual went looking for confrontation and committed murder despite having the ability to retreat.
